The wave of globalization brings both opportunities and challenges.At the same time of the rapid development of national economy and politics,it has caused a break with traditional culture,resulting in cultural development far below the actual needs of domestic citizens.At the same time,diversified western culture has taken advantage of the vacancy and occupied the ideological position of Chinese cultural development.Under such a background,the loss and confusion of national identity have been caused,and the national identity of citizens has encountered unprecedented challenges.Since the 18th National Congress of Communist Party of China,the promotion of excellent traditional culture has been promoted to the strategic height of national cultural construction and development.It is clearly pointed out that we should inherit and carry forward the fine traditional Chinese culture,and constantly enhance the sense of belonging,identity,dignity and honor of the Chinese nation.The theory of cultural identity refers to the social psychological process in which individuals internalize their culture and cultural group and generate a sense of belonging,so as to maintain and innovate their own culture.The combination of the new form of social background and the theory of cultural identity provides a new research perspective for this study.The author tries to follow the idea of raising questions-finding out theoretical basis-analyzing problems-solving problems,through the investigation and research of the national identity of children in primary schools L and B in Z district,and analyzes the value and path of the excellent traditional culture education in schools to enhance the national identity of children.This study consists of the following four parts:The first part is the introduction of the first chapter.This chapter describes the research question,topic background,research purpose and significance,research design and implementation,collates and analyzes the development and basic views of the theory of cultural identity,sorts out domestic and foreign literature related to this research,and defines the core concepts of this research.The second part is the second chapter,the analysis of the value of national identity of Chinese excellent traditional culture.This chapter first extracts excellent resources with national identity value in excellent traditional culture,and then makes an in-depth analysis of the value of excellent traditional culture in promoting children’s national identity.The third part is the third chapter and the fourth chapter,namely the discovery and analysis of problems in this study.The third chapter,through the methods of questionnaire,interview,observation and text analysis,conducted questionnaires and interviews with students from Grade 3 to Grade 5 in L primary school and B primary school in Z City respectively.At the same time,combined with the observation of relevant classroom teaching and the analysis of text information of corresponding textbooks,obtained the status of national identity of children in this study.And the present situation of excellent traditional culture education and national identity education in school education.The fourth chapter summarizes its effects and shortcomings on the basis of the analysis of the current situation.Children have some problems in national cognition,national emotion and the corresponding practice and behavior of national identity.At the same time,it also analyzes the causes of these problems,mainly from the background of globalization and multiculturalism,the lack of rational cognition of national identity education in school education,the lack of systematic national identity education curriculum,and the failure of school to coordinate the supporting role of family and society.The fourth part is the fifth chapter,which is the problem solving part of this research.This chapter aims at the problems presented by children in primary schools L and B in Z city from the two levels of national concept and national identity.Based on the theoretical basis of cultural identity,this chapter proposes the excellent traditional cultural education paths for children’s national identity promotion in school education from the three levels of cognition,emotion and behavior:Improve the rational cognition of excellent traditional culture,consolidate children’s national concept,strengthen the emotional experience of excellent traditional culture,stimulate children’s national identity,excellent traditional culture teaching life,cultivate children’s realistic awareness of national identity.
