Computational thinking is an essential component of the core literacy of high school information technology, and has become a ubiquitous thinking skill that modern information society’s digital natives must possess.Developing computational thinking has also become a core goal of the reform of information technology curriculum in primary and secondary schools.Graphical programming,as an important carrier of computational thinking cultivation, has been widely used in information technology teaching.Through graphical programming, students can greatly reduce the memorization of programming languages and syntax rules, and focus more on the improvement of logical thinking, that is,the cultivation of computational thinking skills. This study aims to explore how to cultivate students’ computational thinking skills and solve the problems of insufficient situational, innovative, and experiential learning in current high school information technology teaching.Based on the constructivist learning theory,ACT-R theory, and project-based learning theory, this study clarifies the concepts of computational thinking, productive learning, and Mixly graphical programming. It also elucidates the inherent connection between computational thinking cultivation and productive learning, and proposes a high school computational thinking cultivation teaching mode based on productive learning. The teaching mode is elaborated in detail from the three stages of productive learning: "acquiring productions," "constructing productions," and "generating new productions." The teaching mode is applied in practice, using open-source hardware as the teaching content, and designing and implementing a computational thinking cultivation teaching case based on productive learning. In the teaching effect evaluation section,a combined quantitative and qualitative S-F-T-W computational thinking evaluation system is constructed.Tools such as the high school student computational thinking evaluation form, program flowchart evaluation form,project-based learning activity log,and project work evaluation form are designed.Data are collected through multiple channels, perspectives, and subjects, including scale testing, text analysis, student interviews, teacher interviews, and classroom observations, and then collated and analyzed. The results show that the computational thinking cultivation teaching mode based on production-based learning can help improve students’ computational thinking ability. In the process of productive learning,it helps teachers to transform their teaching roles, from "teaching" to students "doing," students actively construct their knowledge system, develop collaborative learning abilities in group cooperation, and hone their language expression skills in project presentations. In the study of open-source hardware projects, students improve their ability to use computational thinking to solve practical problems.
