The development of science and technology is changing people's way of life and also changing society's requirements for talent cultivation.Computational thinking has become an important ability for students to adapt to the information age,and it has also become one of the society's requirements for future talents. In recent years, cultivating students' computational thinking has become a hot research topic in the field of international education. In 2018,the Ministry of Education issued the "High School Information Technology Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition)",which put forward clear requirements for the development of computational thinking for high school students in my country. At present, the research objects on the cultivation of computational thinking are mainly concentrated in college students, and the related research on the cultivation of computational thinking in elementary and middle schools is still relatively weak.Project-based learning emphasizes the creation of real situations.Students learn through independent exploration and group cooperation, and discover problems, analyze problems, and use knowledge to solve problems in the process of completing the project.Studies have shown that the situational experience teaching model is more conducive to stimulating students' enthusiasm for learning, and at the same time it is easier for students to understand and master new knowledge or skills, and it can also promote the cultivation of computational thinking.Based on this, this research relies on junior high school information technology courses, takes the App Inventor programming platform as an example, and takes the relevant basic theories of computational thinking and project-based learning as guidance to explore the project-based learning activity design plan for cultivating computational thinking for first-year junior high school students. It is applied to teaching practice to verify its teaching effect. This research uses literature research method, questionnaire survey method,quasi-experimental research method, work analysis method and interview method as the main research methods. The main content of the article includes the following aspects: The first chapter is an introduction, which introduces the research background, research purpose and significance, research content and methods. The second chapter is the research literature review, which provides reference for follow-up research. The third chapter is the theoretical basis and concept definition, respectively discussing the relevant theoretical basis, laying a theoretical foundation for the research, and defining the concept of computational thinking and project-based learning. The fourth chapter is the project-based learning activity design for the cultivation of computational thinking. It introduces the existing teaching models for the cultivation of computational thinking, analyzes the characteristics of the teaching objects, clarifies the training objectives, and clarifies the design principles. It also introduces the project-based learning activity process and specific details designed in this research to cultivate computational thinking. The fifth chapter is the practice of project-based learning activities for the cultivation of computational thinking.First,it introduces the preliminary preparations, including the preparation of teaching environment and learning tools, analysis of teaching status, analysis of student learning, and teaching evaluation design.Second,it introduces the entire quasi-experimental design plan, which includes the experiment object, experiment purpose, experiment hypothesis, experiment variable, experiment content, and case implementation process. The sixth chapter is the analysis of teaching practice effect. It analyzes the effect of students' computational thinking training through the results of questionnaires, the completion of students' works and the results of interviews with students. The seventh chapter is the summary and prospects.First,it summarizes the research of this article, then puts forward the shortcomings, and prospects for the continued research in the later period. The results show that the project-based learning activities designed in this study for the cultivation of computational thinking have a certain positive effect on cultivating the computational thinking of the first-year junior high school students, which is embodied in cultivating students' decomposition thinking, abstract thinking, algorithmic thinking, evaluation thinking and generalization. At the same time, this design plan can effectively promote the development of students' problem-solving ability and improve students' ability to cooperate and explore. It is hoped that this research can provide some help for cultivating students' computational thinking.
