With the rapid development of information technology,China’s society has increasingly demanded for the vocational ability of computer talents.Secondary vocational education,as an important part of China’s vocational education system, has delivered a large number of computer graduates to the society every year and made great contributions to the development of China’s computer industry. However, the current vocational knowledge of secondary graduates who major in computer is insufficient, and their vocational ability can hardly meet the requirements of society for computer practitioners. The traditional education mode can hardly meet the demand of vocational education.Project-based teaching, with its characteristics of combining theory and practice, has become one of the emphasis of the current vocational education reform. It uses projects from real working environment as the carrier for teaching, which can effectively improve learners’ vocational ability, but there are still problems such as unstable effect and project pile-up in project-based teaching. The ICAP(interactive, constructive, active, passive)framework clearly classifies and defines learning behaviors, clarifying the association between students’ learning behaviors and learning outcomes, which can be used as a theoretical framework to optimize the project-based teaching model. This study takes the ICAP framework as the theoretical basis, and how project-based teaching can be carried out efficiently in secondary computer science classes as the main research question. The research contents are as follows:(1)Analyzing the problems and causes of project-based teaching in the current secondary computer courses by means of questionnaires and interviews, and summarizing the characteristics of secondary students and secondary computer courses.(2)Combining the characteristics of secondary vocational school students and the characteristics of secondary vocational computer courses, this study used the ICAP framework as the theoretical guide and “Office Software Application” as the course carrier to optimize project-based teaching in six aspects: teaching goal design, teaching content design, teaching project design, learning community construction, teaching classroom implementation and teaching effect evaluation. The study also proposed a project-based teaching model based on the ICAP framework.(3)Taking students of L secondary school whose major is computer application as the research object, the project-based teaching mode based on ICAP framework was the main teaching method.By using the course "Office Software Application" as the carrier, this study conducts a semester-long teaching practice. Finally,it shows that the ICAP framework can help students to improve their academic performance, career awareness and vocational ability. This study also shows that the ICAP framework can promote project-based teaching in secondary computer science courses efficiently from the perspective of learning behavior, and the project-based teaching mode based on ICAP framework can effectively improve students’ academic achievement and vocational ability, which further enriches the teaching theory system of secondary computer science and has some positive significance for the cultivation of secondary computer science professionals.
