| With the rapid development of information technology,sports event data is becoming increasingly rich and complex.This data not only includes athletes’ scores,but also involves tactical analysis,other dimensions of data statistics,and more during competitions.However,the massive amount of sports event data often leads to information overload,presenting challenges for designers in effectively integrating and presenting these complex and diverse data to provide intuitive and easy-to-understand visual experiences.This has become a current research hotspot.In the sport of table tennis,the three major events are the most mature and well-developed: the World Table Tennis Championships,the World Cup Table Tennis Championships,and the Olympic Table Tennis Championships.These events have a wide audience and play an important role in promoting competitive sports spirit.However,in the context of table tennis event data viewing,the data currently available to users is very static and rigid,with limited dimensions.The amount of information users receive while watching a match is quite limited,and they cannot choose which event data they want to see.To address these issues,This paper uses user cognition theory,interaction design,and data visualization design theory as the research foundation,and proposes a data visualization design strategy that aligns with user cognitive behavior.The main research areas of this project include the following:(1)Exploring the research background of data visualization and interaction design,and analyzing the current development status of the sports industry.Reviewing the current research status of data visualization design in China and abroad,and clarifying the theoretical and practical significance of this research topic.(2)Studying the relevant theories,design principles,and representation forms of data visualization design.Then,deeply researching the application of mental models in the field of data visualization design and the interactive and narrative methods in data visualization.(3)Analyzing the current market status of table tennis events,conducting quantitative and qualitative research to gain an in-depth understanding of user needs,and combining user research to construct a target user model for table tennis event data visualization and stratifying user needs.(4)Based on user research,building a user mental model for table tennis match data visualization,clarifying design goals,designing an interaction model for table tennis event data visualization,and proposing design principles and norms.(5)Guided by user needs,combining functional structures and narrative modes to design a table tennis event data visualization interface,and evaluating the design practice to verify the effectiveness and practicality of the design results.Through the discussion of data visualization design of table tennis events,this study contributes to the user research theory and interaction design theory in the field of data visualization,and provides a reference for data visualization interface design of mobile and PC terminals.This project takes the data of the three major table tennis events as a practical case,changing the way users receive data unidirectionally while watching table tennis matches,and achieving two-way interaction between users and data.At the same time,this project has created a graphical data representation form to help users efficiently obtain information,achieving the goal of "thinking visually".The practical results also provide new ideas for future sports data products. |
