Research On The Domestication Of Platforms And The Anti-domestication Of Users In Digital Labo

By creating a consensus of freedom,equality and independence,the capital platform cultivates users’ trust in the platform’s technology and makes them believe that they can be liberated and progress through the platform.Users happily contribute their own data and become the backbone that drives the operation of Internet platforms.Faced with this situation,we need to re-examine the relationship between users’ daily social media practices and platforms,explore the mechanism of "disciplinary" of platforms in digital labor and how users show their own autonomy and motivation beyond regulation,and explore the relationship between the return of users’ subjectivity and the more secretive control of platforms.This paper conducts research through in-depth interview and netnogra-phy.The study finds that the control mode of platform society has changed,users’ cooperation and obedience to the platform control system has deepened,and platform labor control has turned from hegemony to freedom and from explicit to implicit.This change mainly affects users through the fourfold disciplinary of time,space,body and thought.The "disciplinary" mentioned by Michel Foucault emphasizes the visible state of power,and achieves the restraining power on individuals through strict discipline and supervision mechanism,while the "disciplinary" mentioned in this paper emphasizes the invisible state of power,which is an ongoing and mutually constructive subtle process.Due to the concealment of digital technology,the platform can shape a set of strict monitoring mechanism and incentive mechanism through various technical means,so that users can continuously work for the platform in the process of being monitored.It is found that in the process of platform disciplinary of users,although users use the platform as a tool for daily life,users can still subconsciously perceive the existence of platform disciplinary through text features,usage scenarios,and individual behaviors.This brings users’ anxiety about technology addiction,technology security,technology failure and technology discrimination.Users perceive the existence of platform technology while there is the phenomenon of technology paradox,on the one hand,users’ distinct negative attitude towards platform technology is contrary to the vague cognition;on the other hand,users’ distinct negative attitude towards platform technology is also contrary to the behavior,and the behavior accepts various convenience brought by platform algorithm.Users perceive the process of time,space,body and mind disciplinary of the platform,and use their own cognitive and practical abilities to temper the accuracy of the algorithm technology,thus further strengthening the match between the pushed content and the user.
