| With the rapid advancement of technology,the utilization of digital technology in the field of sports,particularly in sports technology monitoring,has become increasingly widespread.Golf,often referred to as a "precision sport," is a prime example of a technical sport where precise club control is essential for accurate shots.Among the various techniques employed in golf competitions,the short game technique stands out as one of the most frequently utilized and practiced skills in players’ daily training routines.The proficiency in executing this technique directly impacts a player’s performance in the game.To delve deeper into the essence of golf short game technique training,this study selected five elite players from the full-time program at Dongguan PGA Golf Academy as research subjects for an experimental investigation.Over a period of five consecutive months,the players’ short game training was monitored using the Trackman radar data monitor,which provided relevant parameter indicators during their training sessions.The purpose of this study was to explore the methods and approaches for teaching and training youth golfers in short iron techniques using digital technology.The findings aim to provide coaches with accurate analysis of players’ individual characteristics,facilitate the development of well-structured training plans,and offer practical case studies and assistance for the scientific training and monitoring of youth golf in China.This research holds significant importance in enhancing the technical prowess of young golf players in China and narrowing the gap between China and other leading nations in the sport.Based on the research objectives outlined in this paper,the author employed a mixed-methods approach,combining quantitative and qualitative research methodologies such as literature review,expert interviews,experimental tests,and mathematical statistics,to address the following questions: Can the implementation of digital technology monitoring promote the improvement and refinement of short iron skills in the five players? Are there any variations in the short iron parameters among the five players? How does digital monitoring provide inspiration and assistance in the coaches’ daily short iron training? What are the disparities between digital monitoring and traditional experiential training? After analyzing and comparing the relevant data obtained from the experimental results,the following observations were made:(1)The application of digital monitoring in youth golf short iron training revealed significant variations in the overall performance of all players involved in the experiment.The short iron skills exhibited substantial improvement,thanks to the timely and accurate feedback provided by digital instrument monitoring and evaluation.(2)Through a comparative analysis of the various short iron parameters before and after the experiment,it was observed that there were certain discrepancies in the improvement of individual technical indicators for each player’s short iron shots.Player A,for instance,demonstrated a decline in their performance for shots ranging from 60-70 yards and 81-90 yards.Further investigation revealed that the variances in players’ technical characteristics led coaches to tailor training approaches differently,resulting in variations in technical performance among the players.(3)The integration of digital technology effectively enhances coaches’ ability to analyze and diagnose players’ skills.Coaches can promptly and accurately assess players’ current technical characteristics and identify existing flaws,thereby providing them with precise analysis of their individual traits,well-structured training plans,and objective data-driven support.The introduction of digitalization has enriched and improved coaches’ daily teaching and training methods,contributing to the overall enhancement of golf coaching in China.(4)In interviews conducted with the training coaches and players involved in the experiment,it was evident that digital monitoring,compared to traditional training methods,enables both parties to identify and address their own issues more intuitively.By combining digital teaching methods with traditional approaches,more objective and targeted suggestions and opinions can be provided to optimize training plan arrangements. |
