| The General High School Geography Curriculum Standards(2020 Revised Edition)proposes to cultivate students’ essential core literacy in geography and emphasizes the need to innovate ways of cultivating core literacy in geography.Regionalism is the basic characteristic of geography,and the questions in recent years usually take a specific region as the background to examine students’ comprehensive ability to solve regional geography problems,so teachers must pay great attention to the cultivation of students’ regional cognitive literacy.The promulgation of the new standard has set off a boom in the study of regional cognition,and as the number of studies increases year by year,the forms of cultivating regional cognitive literacy have become more diversified.Documentaries have strong scientific,realistic and intuitive features,which are very suitable for geography teaching.More and more geography teachers combine documentary resources with geography teaching contents,and use intuitive video images to assist the explanation of knowledge.A large number of high-quality geography documentaries have emerged in recent years,such as "Aerial Photography of China","Beautiful China" and "Geography-China",which are comprehensive and well-produced and provide rich materials for regional geography teaching.Based on the current situation of cultivating regional cognitive literacy,this paper explores the strategies of using documentary resources to cultivate regional cognitive literacy and its application in high school geography classrooms.Supported by constructivist theory,audiovisual education theory and multiple intelligence theory,this paper compares the research progress of using documentary film resources to cultivate regional cognitive literacy at home and abroad through literature analysis method and defines the core concepts.On the basis of theoretical research,we analyzed the current situation of the application of documentary resources in high school geography classroom teaching through questionnaire surveys of geography teachers and students,and came to the following main conclusions:(1)teachers and students have a positive attitude toward using documentary teaching,but the actual application frequency in the classroom is low and the application form is single,and the role of documentary resources in the cultivation of regional cognitive literacy is not fully utilized;(2)some teachers Some teachers do not have sufficient understanding of the connotation of regional cognitive literacy,do not know enough about the way to cultivate different regional cognitive abilities,and do not have a strong focus in teaching and lack specific application strategies;(3)There are many ways to obtain documentaries,but it takes a lot of time and effort to select the clips that fit the teaching content;(4)Some teachers are not skilled in applying information technology and encounter some obstacles in processing documentaries;(5)The use of documentaries in the classroom The use of documentaries in the classroom can create a good learning atmosphere,mobilize students’ enthusiasm,and increase students’ participation in the classroom.Based on the findings of the survey,the author proposes strategies to deal with the main problems of using documentary film resources to cultivate regional cognitive literacy among high school students,taking into account her own educational internship experience.Firstly,providing the channels of acquiring documentaries such as websites,video software and We Chat public number,the strategies of acquiring and processing documentary resources are proposed.Secondly,from different regional cognitive abilities,corresponding cultivation strategies are proposed according to specific cultivation goals:(1)Cultivate regional orientation ability with the help of map information in documentaries;(2)Enhance regional characteristics cognitive ability with the help of vivid images in documentaries;(3)Enhance regional connection and regional differences cognitive ability by comparing regional similarities and differences through documentaries;(4)Create situations with documentary resources to cultivate regional cognitive Development ability.Finally,according to the main tasks and focus of different teaching sessions,the strategies of using documentary resources to cultivate regional cognitive literacy in different sessions are proposed:(1)introduction session to stimulate learning interest;(2)lecture session to help break through important and difficult points;(3)induction session to promote emotional sublimation;(4)post-lesson session to develop geographical horizons.Under the guidance of the teaching strategies,a case design of documentary film resources to cultivate regional cognitive literacy of high school students was conducted to fully reflect the application of the strategies and verify their effectiveness in the teaching process.The documentaries "Geography-China" and "Aerial Photography of China" were selected and integrated into the teaching process of the section "Karst Landforms" in the Xiangji version of high school Geography Compulsory 1,which enriched the teaching cases of documentary resources and provided reference for the integration of documentaries into high school geography teaching.This paper investigates and analyzes the current situation,proposes specific strategies to deal with the problems of documentary resources in developing regional cognitive literacy,and designs teaching cases to verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the strategies,so as to provide reference for front-line geography teachers in using documentary resources to develop regional cognitive literacy in teaching. |
