Research On The Present Situation And Countermeasures Of College Students’ Volunteer Service

On August 22 nd,2017,the State Council issued the newly adopted Regulations on Voluntary Service,which made specific provisions on the implementation principles,management system and rights protection of voluntary service,which marked that China’s voluntary service was moving towards standardization and legalization,and also opened a new journey of voluntary service with China characteristics.As a necessary reserve force for the safe and stable development of the country,college students’ participation in voluntary service in the new era directly reflects the level of future social construction.Young students should constantly cultivate their personal moral cultivation,establish their sense of voluntary service and cultivate their spirit of dedication in order to shoulder the heavy responsibility of the times for national rejuvenation.China’s traditional charity thought,Marx’s voluntary labor theory,the Communist Party of China(CPC)people’s important exposition on voluntary service and foreign volunteer failure theory provide rich theoretical sources for the study of college students’ voluntary service.Focusing on the current situation and countermeasures of college students’ volunteer service is of great practical significance for promoting the development of volunteer service in the new era,establishing correct values,promoting the all-round development of individuals and mobilizing social resources.Based on the contents of the Regulations on Volunteer Service and Salomon’s theory of volunteer failure,this paper designs a questionnaire on the status of college students’ volunteer service from three dimensions: cognition,participation and feedback.Using SPSS26.0 data analysis software to make descriptive statistical analysis of the collected results,it is found that college students’ volunteer service generally presents a positive development trend.The positive aspects are as follows: the number of college students volunteers is considerable,the spirit of voluntary service is constantly popularized,and the field of voluntary service is constantly expanding.However,the shortcomings are that some students’ motivation for participation is utilitarian,the expected results cannot be achieved,and the projects provided by colleges and universities need to be innovated and not yet normalized.Finally,according to the above problems,the reasons are analyzed and the corresponding solutions are put forward.In a word,the poor effect of college students’ volunteer service is the result of many reasons.Only by giving full play to the subjective initiative of college students’ volunteer spirit,paying attention to the leading role of society in volunteer service,strengthening the main position of colleges and universities in base construction,improving the management demonstration role of volunteer organizations and the supportive role of government policies can the level of college students’ volunteer service be promoted steadily.
