Experimental Research On Junior High School Basketball Teaching Based On BOPPPS Teaching Mode

The physical test currently has an impact on junior middle school physical education instruction in our nation,demonstrating a typical teaching approach centered on physical training.Such instruction helps students’ physical quality,but to some extent it neglects the development of students’ core qualities and also contributes to certain students’ declining enthusiasm in sports,which is detrimental to the development of students’ lifelong sports consciousness.This study implements the BOPPPS teaching approach to the basketball instruction in the junior middle school PE class.The main purpose is to use teaching experiments to demonstrate the model’s real-world application in the teaching of general physical education courses and its impact on students’ sports interest and lifelong sports consciousness in order to offer a fresh approach to the reform of school physical education course instruction.In order to create an experimental group and a control group,this study use the methods of literature,interviews,tests,mathematical statistics,and instructional experiments.While the control group used the conventional teaching method,the experimental group used BOPPPS.The following research findings are attained following a 9-week teaching experiment:(1)BOPPPS-based basketball instruction for junior high school students is based on constructivism theory,humanism theory,and cognitivism theory,and permeates these theories in practical teaching.(2)The experimental group considerably improved on the dribbling,passing,shooting,and marching shooting test scores compared to the control group,although there was no significant change in physical fitness.(3)The experimental group’s internal motivation,differential motivation,external motivation,and desire for athletics were all significantly better than those of the control group,while the lack of motivation was dramatically reduced;The internal motivation,discriminating motivation,external motivation,and sports preference of the experimental group were also significantly improved following the experiment,while the lack of motivation was significantly reduced in the comparison between the two groups before and after the same experiment.Internal motivation,discriminating motivation,external motivation,sports preference,and a lack of motivation did not significantly change in the control group.The following conclusions are reached based on the aforementioned research findings and recommendations:(1)The BOPPPS teaching model in embodies these three theoretical ideas of teaching and learning,and has a certain guiding effect on today’s secondary school physical education,which can enhance students’ abilities in various aspects.(2)Compared to the traditional teaching method,BOPPPS can help students improve their offensive skills,but it does not seem to improve their physical quality.(3)The BOPPPS teaching model has the potential to strengthen students’ lifetime sports consciousness and their enthusiasm for sports.The traditional teaching model lacks obvious interest and motivation.(4)The BOPPPS teaching model is suitable for the teaching of PE basketball to students in grades 7 and 8 in junior middle school and fits in with the practice of reforming the school PE curriculum.(5)Another issue with the BOPPPS teaching method is that it is difficult to understand the class’ s rhythm,necessitating teacher acclimatization.To get the most out of their teaching,teachers need to be able to change the lesson plan as needed in class.
