Early childhood is an important period for the social development of young children,and the cultivation of pro-social behavior helps the formation of a sound personality and is of great significance to the positive and healthy development of g children’s bodies and minds.Children’s interaction with peers and the development of pro-social behaviors are often generated in play situations.Role play is a common form of play in children’s daily life in kindergartens,and its activity environment is suitable for developing interpersonal relationships,peer interaction,and pro-social behaviors.This study first compiles,summarizes and reviews the literature on outdoor role play and pro-social behavior of young children at home and abroad.With the help of interview method and observation method,we observe the performance related to pro-social behavior of children of kindergarten class in outdoor role play and understand the problems of teachers in fostering pro-social behavior of older children in outdoor role play.Based on the analysis of the current situation,the author adopted the action research method and took 30 children of kindergarten class of S Kindergarten in Shanghai as the research subjects,providing educational support from three aspects,including environment,materials,and teacher-child and child-child interaction,and conducting two rounds of action research.In the first round of action research,a cheerful and free play environment was created to promote the emergence of pro-social behavior;a hundred treasures of materials were built together to enhance the sense of sharing and promote the emergence of sharing behavior In the first round of action research,we created a cheerful and free play environment to promote pro-social behaviors;we built a treasure trove of materials to enhance the awareness of sharing and promote sharing behaviors;we shared and exchanged play experiences and jointly developed friendly rules to strengthen feedback on pro-social behaviors,and reflected and adjusted the first action.In the second round of action research,we strengthen regional linkage to enhance peer interaction;guide children to learn the skills of sorting and organizing materials to cultivate socially virtuous behaviors;record play stories and design friendly manuals to accumulate pro-social experiences.The findings concluded that the outdoor role play program designed in this study can effectively cultivate pro-social behavior in children of kindergarten class,and proposed educational strategies and suggestions for cultivating pro-social behavior in outdoor role play.The specific strategies include:(1)constructing a physical and psychological environment that promotes the production of pro-social behavior in children,and creating a pleasant and friendly game atmosphere;(2)encouraging children to participate in the collection and organization of game materials together,understanding the meaning of sharing,stimulating situations that require cooperation,and mastering the skills of sorting and organizing,so as to infiltrate the cultivation of sharing,cooperation and socially virtuous behavior;(3)attaching importance to the sharing of game experiences and game story recording,taking into account both collective and individual,tapping into pro-social behaviors,using positive reinforcement,empathic experiences,and playing role models to demonstrate and other guidance strategies;(4)discussing friendly codes,designing friendly manuals,and selecting friendly stars to consolidate and accumulate pro-social experiences.It is also suggested that educators should pay attention to the cultivation of pro-social behaviors and improve their professional guidance skills.
