With the continuous development of mathematics curriculum reform,《the compulsor y education mathematics curriculum standards(2022 edition)》put forward a new core ma thematical literacy-sense of quantity,which refers to the intuitive perception of the measu rable properties and size relationships of things.At present,in the primary school stage,t he sense of quantity has not attracted much attention.In the process of classroom teachi ng,more attention is paid to the students understanding of the quantity knowledge itself,as well as the unit of quantity and its transformation relationship.It only pays attention to the level of mathematical knowledge,lacks in-depth mathematical thinking,and lacks i n-depth excavation of the understanding and feeling of quantity,the measurement and est imation of quantity.As an important period of cultivating students sense of quantity,the development of students sense of quantity will affect their future mathematics learning.B ased on this,this study takes the current situation and strategies of teaching students’ sen se of quantity in the second period as the research problem,and makes suggestions and countermeasures for teachers’ teaching work according to the specific requirements in the new curriculum and previous studies,so as to contribute to the cultivation of students’ se nse of quantity.This study initially analyzed the connotation of quantitative sense and related theories,then sorted out the content of quantitative sense in curriculum standards and textbooks,and then used the test method to extract six dimensions of quantitative sense from the test papers,and compiled a quantitative sense test tool for elementary school students from the awareness of quantity,selection of quantity,comparison of quantity,estimation of quantity,conversion of quantity,and application of quantity,and analyzed and studied the test results.Then a teacher interview survey was conducted to understand teachers’ understanding of quantity sense and the problems in teaching.Finally,based on the understanding of the survey and the existing problems,a penetration strategy for developing students’ quantity sense was proposed.
