IP Multimedia Subsystem(IMS)is a 3GPP Re1.5 standardized control domain for multimedia services,which is also considered as the solution of the FMC(Fixed and Mobile Convergence)in the future.However,with the rapid development of multimedia services,the requirements of added QoS(Quality of Service)can not be fulfilled by the traditional "best effort" IP service due to its unpredictable delay and packet loss performance.Therefore,how to guarantee IMS QoS based on IP bearer has become a crucial issue.In this thesis,the Inter-Serv,Diff-Serv and MPLS model which are commonly used in IP QoS are first studied,then the mechanism of the policy-based QoS management system proposed by 3GPP is analyzed.Furthermore,this thesis proposes a simplified model of a Diff-Serv MPLS-based end-to-end IMS QoS and performs network simulation on OPNET.Analysis shows that in the case of high network load,this model can effctively improve the performance of high-priority traffic.Finally,combined with IMS QoS pilot project in China Mobile,this thesis gives a deployment program of end-to-end IMS QoS,and carries out actual network tests,which proved its effectiveness and feasibility.
