With the high-speed development of Internet technology,the platform model has become the main carrier of the "Internet +" strategy.Therefore,the issues related to the competitive advantages of platform companies are worth studying.This paper selects the representative platform enterprise Xiaomi as the research object,uses the case study method,and combines theory and data to analyze and study the logical manifestation of the platform enterprise’s competitive advantage,and summarizes the suggestions for improving the platform enterprise’s competitive advantage.This paper sorts out and summarizes the relevant literature,and analyzes the composition logic of Xiaomi’s business ecosystem on the basis of existing research theories.According to the chronological development order,Xiaomi’s existing business ecosystem can be divided into three circles.The enterprise data and current situation of different circles are analyzed,and the current problems of case platform enterprises are obtained.Based on the three circles of business in the Xiaomi business ecosystem,after analyzing the data such as operation,investment and enterprise value of different circles,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)Also according to the circle logic,the competitive advantages of platform enterprises can be divided into scale advantages,stickiness advantages and ecological advantages from inside out.At the same time,the factors influencing these three competitive advantages can be summarized as: core technical capabilities,threats between alternatives and existing competitors,the integrity of the ecological chain,the integration and upgrading between platform enterprises and platform participating enterprises,and the bargaining power of buyers and suppliers.(2)The user scale of the business ecosystem and the breadth of the platform’s inclusion of enterprises can be used as the criteria of judging the competitive advantages of platform enterprises.The business data,enterprise value and investment activities of platform enterprises will affect these two criteria.Therefore,the performance of these data is also the embodiment of competitive advantage.(3)Based on the premise of the problems existing in the case platform enterprises and the factors affecting the competitive advantage of platform enterprises,four ways to improve the competitive advantage of platform enterprises are summarized,which are patent platform strategy,strategy of reducing the possibility of competitive replication,cross-network effect and platform envelope strategy.The research significance of this paper lies in the research on the competitive advantages of case platform enterprises from perspective of business ecology,and put forward feasible suggestions from the perspective of platform enterprises.At the same time,it supplements the theories and applications related to platforms,business ecosystems and competitive advantages to provide reference for other platform enterprises to continuously improve their competitive advantages under the current economic situation.
