| The professional application of industrial drones is strong,and the information transformation brought by them is more in line with the pain point needs of various industries for upgrading.Therefore,the industrial drone industry is a new direction for future industrial development.In recent years,the expansion of the industrial UAV industry to the consumer market has encountered a threshold.How to occupy the leading edge in this field through patent technology protection requires systematic patent analysis and scientific and reasonable layout strategies to clarify the development direction of enterprises and guide enterprises to carry out patent layout.This paper studies the patent layout of XAG from the perspectives of macro industry and micro enterprise,explores the advantages and disadvantages of its patent layout,clarifies the positioning of the enterprise,summarizes the layout strategy,and finally puts forward feasible suggestions for improving the patent layout.This paper uses the patent information analysis method and CMT three-dimensional analysis method to conduct statistical analysis of the patent data of the industrial drone industry and the patent data of XAG and its competitors.The patent situation of the whole industry shows that the number of patent applications in the industrial drone industry has grown rapidly,especially the number of patent applications in China accounts for 53% of the total number of global applications,and China’s patent output capacity is ahead of the world average.This is thanks to the domestic enterprises with technological innovation level,according to the analysis results of the innovation subject,4 domestic enterprises of DJI,Power Vision,Ewatt and Aee and 2 foreign enterprises of Parrot and Amazon are identified as competitors of XAG for comparative analysis.Based on the results of XAG’s own and the comparative analysis with competitors,it can be seen that the advantages and shortcomings of the company’s patent layout coexist.XAG has certain advantages in the number of patents,but the company developed industrial drone technology late,patent applications are concentrated in 2019-2022,the number of patents has surged in the short term,and the layout is not perfect.XAG’s patent layout is concentrated in China,and it is in a leading position in the field of domestic agricultural UAVs;Overseas,patents have only been applied in a few countries,such as Canada.DJI and Parrot have a wide geographical layout and have seized certain geographical advantages,while XAG’s layout is relatively narrow,making it difficult to expand the global market.XAG’s number of patents and patent value are in the forefront,but its patent implementation rate is low,and some patented technologies still stay at the research and development level.In terms of technical layout,XAG’s patent applications are concentrated in operation management application technologies,including pharmaceutical control,remote sensing monitoring and other technologies.However,DJI and Ewatt also invest more manpower in operation management,and the research duration and patent value are better than XAG,and other competitors such as Parrot lead in the number of patents in flight control technology,which shows that XAG’s patent layout is not comprehensive enough,the awareness of tracking competitors’ patent layout is not strong,and the patent competitiveness is weak.In view of the above shortcomings,this paper proposes to improve the quality of patents and slow down the application speed;Actively explore overseas markets and stabilize the home field advantage;Countermeasures and suggestions for strengthening patent operation,improving patent value,maintaining core technology advantages,and broadening technical layout. |
