Since the Sino-US trade war,the United States has included Chinese companies such as Huawei in the "physical list" and used the "stranglehold" policy to curb the development of China’s high-tech enterprises,which has made China deeply aware that key technologies must be in its own hands.In 2019,China proposed to develop the information technology application innovation industry,and subsequently issued a series of support policies,focusing on increasing the localization,independent research and development,and independent control of the IT industry.On the premise of entering the market relatively late,X company has taken advantage of its innovation advantages,starting with technology import,imitation innovation,and mastering core technology,becoming the world’s leading chip design company.Its innovative catch-up path provides a reference for Chinese high-tech enterprises to achieve innovative catch-up.The pursuit of technology by latecomer enterprises in developing countries is generally secondary innovation based on original innovation,relying on their unique resource and human resources advantages to break through technological and market disadvantages and establish their own core strengths.Through the research on the theory of innovation catch-up of latecomer enterprises,this article finds that there are generally two aspects of innovation:business model innovation and technological innovation.This article uses the case analysis method,combined with the case of X company,on the basis of collecting and sorting out a large number of original materials,and uses the qualitative analysis software Nvivo 12.0 to collate and code the category relationship and logical chain of data presentation,ultimately forming the innovation path and technological catch-up innovation mechanism of X company’s business model,as well as the evolution stage,content,and results of their collaborative innovation.A theoretical model for achieving innovation catch-up among latecomer high-tech enterprises in developing countries is constructed.The research conclusions of this article are as follows:(1)The process of validating and improving business model innovation regarding the construction of a new value network includes four stages:value proposition,value creation,value transmission,and value acquisition;(2)Explore the three-stage evolution path of latecomer enterprises’ technology,from technology imitation and introduction,to product improvement and innovation,and then to core technology innovation,gradually establish their own technical barriers,and achieve the transformation from"followers" to "pioneers";(3)The business model and technology of latecomers cooperate with each other and innovate cooperatively,which jointly affects the evolution process of enterprises to achieve innovation catch-up.Finally,latecomers successfully overcome technical and market disadvantages and become industry leaders.Based on the above conclusions,the author finally proposes management inspirations that can be used for reference by other latecomer enterprises in China.At each stage of enterprise development,business models should be matched with technology development stages,and latecomer enterprises should always pay attention to improving the company’s business model,creating a good organizational soil for the development of technology,while technology development should also make dynamic changes based on the value creation model.
