A Study On The Design Of Elderly-friendly Online Food Delivery Platforms Based On User Experience

As China’s aging population continues to deepen,designing digital products and services that cater to the elderly is crucial for meeting their needs.As a digital service,the design of food delivery platforms has a significant impact on the user experience and satisfaction of the elderly.However,due to the decline in the physiological and cognitive abilities of the elderly,many food delivery platforms often fail to meet their needs,resulting in unsatisfactory experiences.This study focuses on user experience-based geriatric design and aims to improve the convenience of food delivery for the elderly and address a series of issues associated with food delivery products.This research conducted user surveys of elderly users through on-site observation,in-depth interviews,and questionnaire surveys to understand the use of food delivery platforms by the elderly and to review the development of food delivery platforms in China and abroad.By analyzing the survey results,the study identified various problems associated with the current geriatric design of food delivery platforms,such as complex interface design and a lack of consideration for the habits of elderly users.Subsequently,this study designed an interactive design system for food delivery platforms that is suitable for the elderly to enhance their convenience and satisfaction.The research content mainly includes three aspects:first,clarifying the use of food delivery platforms by the elderly and the associated problems through surveys to provide a basis for subsequent geriatric design;second,summarizing the key factors and design strategies for geriatric design of food delivery platforms based on the development status of food delivery platforms in China and abroad;and finally,designing an interactive design system for food delivery platforms that is suitable for the elderly and conducting feasibility analyses.The research results show that the interactive design system for food delivery platforms designed in this study can enhance the convenience and satisfaction of the elderly and has practical value.The contribution of this study is that it proposes an interactive design system for food delivery platforms that is suitable for the elderly and conducts feasibility analyses.Additionally,this study summarizes the key factors and design strategies for geriatric design of food delivery platforms,which can provide a reference for geriatric design of other digital products and services.This research has a positive promoting effect on enhancing the user experience and satisfaction of the elderly and also provides ideas and methods for geriatric design of digital products and services.In the future,more in-depth research can be conducted on the needs and usage of digital products and services by the elderly to explore more effective geriatric design methods and enhance the quality of life of the elderly.
