Research Of Huanqiu.com On International News Reports

As one of the important media brands of People’s Daily Online,Huanqiu.com has issued important voices on many major international news issues over the years,reflecting to a certain extent the way the Chinese official media speaks out in a specific historical period,and has greater influence and representation in the press.This paper selects the news reports on the "Meng Wanzhou incident" from December 1,2018 to October 31,2021 on Huanqiu.com as the research object,and 371 related articles are selected as research samples,in an attempt to understand more deeply the reporting strategies of China’s official media on issues involving international events.This paper is divided into four parts,mainly using document analysis,text mining analysis and content analysis to study the selected samples.In the first part,we search,filter,count,and read the news about "Meng’s case" on the Globe to identify the research sample,and analyze the content of the research sample in terms of the number of reports,the emotional tendency of the reports,the topics of the reports,and other dimensions,so as to sort out the basic situation of the reports on "Meng’s case"."The third part of the study focuses on the narrative style,the emotional tendency of the reports,and the topics of the reports.The third part focuses on the discourse analysis of the research sample from several aspects such as narrative style,symbolic use,and discourse rhetoric.In the process of reporting the "Meng Wanzhou case," Huanqiu.com,on the one hand,responds positively to the developments of the case and timely broadcasts the latest progress of the case to the public.On the other hand,it has always maintained a neutral attitude and expressed its media bias on the basis of objectivity,which not only meets the public’s demand for information,but also effectively guides public opinion.At the same time,there are still many shortcomings in Huanqiu.com’s news reporting framework and dissemination on issues related to the "Meng Wanzhou case",such as single perspective and insufficient depth of reporting.Finally,by taking the study of Huanqiu.com’s news coverage of the Meng Wanzhou case as an example,we analyze how Huanqiu.com should optimize its communication countermeasures when reporting international issues,especially those closely related to China’s interests,in order to provide reference for China’s mainstream media to report and guide public opinion on international issues more effectively.
