As the application of digital technologies represented by big data,cloud computing,Internet of Things,blockchain and artificial intelligence continues to expand and deepen globally,digitalization has gradually become an important power point for global enterprises to innovate and upgrade.While realizing innovation and breakthrough,digital technology is also deeply integrated with traditional manufacturing industry,which makes the manufacturing industry show a strong new trend of digital development.In recent years,the development of China’s manufacturing industry has faced a series of "internal and external troubles" that need to be solved.On the one hand,China’s manufacturing industry is facing the "low-end lock" in the international market,and the industrial chain and innovation chain are not connected enough.On the other hand,developed countries actively deploy "re-industrial strategy",and non-tariff barriers emerge one after another.Therefore,after superimposing international,domestic,industrial and other factors,it is of practical significance to bring the digital development of manufacturing enterprises and their export behavior into an analytical framework.Based on the heterogeneous enterprise trade theory,industrial values and institutional foundation theory,this paper explains the influence of enterprise digital development on enterprise exports and the adjustment effect of industry competition and institutional policies on the influence,and puts forward the hypothesis of this paper.In the research design,this paper selects A-share listed manufacturing companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen manufacturing sector from 2012 to 2021 as sample research objects.In the empirical part,this paper selects six secondary indexes from three aspects: enterprise digital investment,digital innovation and digital strategy,establishes an index system to evaluate enterprise digital development level,explores the influence of manufacturing enterprise digital development on enterprise export,and the effect of industry competition and institutional policies on the influence.Furthermore,this paper tested the robustness of the results by changing explanatory variables and delayed regression operation,and analyzed the heterogeneity from the size of the firm and the region where the firm is located.According to the empirical results,this paper puts forward the relevant conclusions and suggestions.The results show that the digital development of manufacturing enterprises has a significant positive impact on export,that is,the digital development level of manufacturing enterprises has a significant positive effect on export trade.Industry competition can strengthen the promotion effect of digitalization of manufacturing enterprises on export,and the institutional influence has a "substitution relationship" with digitalization of manufacturing enterprises.According to the conclusions,this paper puts forward some suggestions: on the one hand,the country should continue to promote the development of digital economy,increase the construction of digital infrastructure,and guide the development of digital industry;On the other hand,the manufacturing industry and enterprises should make reasonable digital decisions and expand the investment of intelligent manufacturing and digital talents. |
