Statistical Measurement To The Development Of The Digital Economy In The Yangtze River Economic Belt

As one of the new economic forms,the digital economy is pivotal to the upgrading of traditional industries and socio-economic development.From the recent policy support of governments for digital economy,we can see that digital economy has become the focus of global economic development.It is of great strategic significance to deeply study the connotation and characteristics of digital economy,to measure and evaluate its development level,to provide theoretical support for the development of regional digital economy,and to provide practical basis for achieving high-quality economic development.As the backbone of China’s digital economy,the Yangtze River Economic Belt has become a driving force in the development of China’s high quality economy.In the new development pattern of "one axis,two wings,three poles and multiple points",how can the provincial economies achieve a reasonable assessment of high-quality economic development? Based on the constructed index system,how to measure the development level of provincial economies in the Yangtze River Economic Belt? How to analyze the main factors affecting the high quality development? This paper measures and evaluates the development of digital economy from a statistical perspective,taking the regional information and economic indicators of 11 provinces in the Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2012-2019 as the research objects,and the main research contents and innovations are as follows:(1)Based on the technology-economy paradigm theory,the initial indicator system of digital economy is constructed by integrating bibliometric high-frequency indicators and expert knowledge information.Under the conditions of streamlining and independence,the significance and validity of the indicator system are tested to provide a new measure of digital economy development determined by a certain amount of criteria.(2)Based on the entropy weight method and TOPSIS multi-attribute decision-making method,a comprehensive measurement of digital economy development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt is realized.The digital measurement results show that the level of digital economy development in the downstream areas of the Yangtze River Economic Belt is much higher than that in the middle and upper reaches;the time-series evolution characteristics show that the synergistic development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt is beginning to bear fruit,and the differences between provinces and cities are steadily narrowing.The results of exploratory spatial data analysis show that the Yangtze River Economic Belt has positive and significant autocorrelation in digital economy development spatially,with relatively stable local spatial association structure and uneven distribution pattern,forming a spatial pattern of sloping direction from the southwest inland to the eastern coastal region incrementally.(3)Based on factor analysis,the results of diagnosing the impediments to the development of digital economy in the Yangtze River Economic Belt show that although the specific impediment indicators vary among different provinces and cities,most of them are focused on the two guideline layers of digital technology and digital industry,which become the main factors limiting the development of regional digital economy.Further,feasible strategies and suggestions for the development of digital economy in Yangtze River Economic Belt are proposed in terms of regional characteristics,coordinated development,innovation drive and policy system.
