Laos is a traditional agricultural country, which has abundant agricultural resources due to its favorable climate and abundant rainfall.Agriculture has always played a vital role in Laos’ economic development. In order to achieve better agricultural development, the Lao government carried out reform on agricultural development and gradually realized the path of agricultural modernization. After years of hard development,Laos has also made great achievements in agricultural development. The agricultural added value is increasing, the degree of mechanization is getting higher and higher, and the number of agricultural talents is also increasing. However, there are still some problems in the process of agricultural modernization in Laos, such as the shortage of agricultural professionals, the low contribution rate of agricultural science and technology progress, and the imperfect agricultural infrastructure construction, which hinder the agricultural modernization in Laos. Therefore, based on the theory of agricultural development and stakeholder theory, this paper studies the agricultural development in Laos.Firstly,it analyzes the current situation of agricultural development in Laos from three aspects: agricultural resources, agricultural planting and agricultural economy.Secondly, the modernization degree of Laos’ agricultural development is analyzed from three aspects: agricultural talent team, mechanization degree and scientific and technological innovation. The results show that Laos is still faced with the difficulties of insufficient agricultural capital investment, insufficient scientific and technological innovation, insufficient agricultural human capital and imperfect infrastructure construction. At last, the author puts forward some countermeasures and Suggestions.
