| In recent years,project management is valued highly and used by more and more people.A project is a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product,service or result.The project team is the principal part which carries out this temporary work,so the project team is temporary.Generally speaking,a project team will go through the developing stages of forming,storming,norming,performing and adjourning.Some scholars research on the developing stages of forming,storming,norming and performing,but there is a small number of scholars research on the developing stage of adjourning.The research on the disbandment of project team from the perspectives of optimizing management strategy and improving management efficiency.Based on the result-oriented idea,research the disbandment of project team from the perspective of improving project performance in this paper.The smooth disbandment of project team is that the work of managing project team disbandment is done by using the good practices.It can minimize the negative effects of the disbandment of project team,improve the team morale,and help to improve the project performance.Firstly,the existing good practices of project team disbandment are refined through a literature review.Build the initial theoretical model of the smooth disbandment of project team base on Tuckman Stages of Team Development and Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory.Secondly,because there are only a small number of literature in this field,carry on interviews to revise the theoretical model.Thirdly,the revised theoretical model is tested by taking the Yuanshi company as an example.The test is to diagnose and solve the problems in project team disbandment of the Yuanshi company,which is guided by the revised theoretical model.It can help to find something can be improved of the theoretical model.Lastly,the interviews of stage II is implemented to improve the theoretical model.What’s more,its checklist and the key points of project managers’ competency are obtained.They are also the important parts of theoretical model.They improve the use convenience of the theoretical model which includes 9 programmatic good practices.The theoretical model shows that it need to focus on different good practices in different developing stages of a project team.It need to focus on team building,full respecting,and recognition in the stages of Forming and Storming.It need to focus on skill promoting,work ethic and organizational climate in the stages of Norming and Performing.It need to focus on job offering,psychology anticipation and team member pacifying in the stage of Adjourning.The research results in this paper can direct the work of managing project team disbandment effectively and achieve the smooth disbandment of project team.So it can help to improve the project performance. |
