Abstract/Summary:
Innovation is the key to the sustainable development of an organization, tacit knowledge is the core resource to achieve organizational innovation. The organization’s tacit knowledge transfer network is a complex knowledge interaction network formed by the tacit knowledge transfer activities of organizational members based on diversified network relationships. The knowledge transfer process of members conforms to the symbiotic characteristic.Due to the implicit knowledge and the complexity of the relationship between members, the symbiotic relationships between members have greatly affected the tacit knowledge transfer effect.Existing researches on tacit knowledge transfer behavior within the network mainly focus on the network characteristics, and pay less attention to the role played by the symbiotic relationships between network members. In order to explore the symbiotic relationship between knowledge subjects and its impact on tacit knowledge transfer, this paper analyzes the symbiotic relationships within the organization’s tacit knowledge transfer network based on social network theory and symbiosis theory.By analyzing the process of tacit knowledge transfer between two subjects, this paper constructs the symbiotic evolution model of dualistic subjects with the help of Lotka-Volterra model. The symbiotic coefficient is constructed from the four perspectives including knowledge-based psychological personal ownership(KPPO)of the knowledge provider, media richness, trust of the knowledge receiver, and the organizational reward matching.According to the different value combinations of symbiotic coefficient, the symbiotic modes are discussed. Finally, with the help of simulation, the influence mechanism of symbiotic modes and related factors on the evolution path of tacit knowledge are described. The results show that symbiotic modes among members include independence, commensalism, asymmetric mutualism, and symmetric mutualism.Symmetric mutualism mode is the optimal mode of member symbiosis. At this time, the maximum knowledge scale of member independent development affects the knowledge increment, and the initial knowledge quantity and natural growth rate affect the growth rate of member knowledge. In the process of tacit knowledge transfer, media richness, the knowledge receiver’s trust and organizational reward matching all effectively promote the growth of members’ tacit knowledge, while the knowledge provider’s KPPO inhibits the growth of members’ tacit knowledge.Based on the above conclusions, this paper puts forward four suggestions: creating a harmonious symbiotic atmosphere and promoting the collaborative evolution of members;enriching the media, reducing the loss of knowledge;establishing and improving the incentive and evaluation mechanism to promote the transfer of tacit knowledge among members;adding learning and training opportunities to improve the tacit knowledge of members. This paper deeply reveals the symbiotic evolution process of dualistic knowledge subjects in tacit knowledge transfer network, explores the symbiotic modes between subjects and their influence mechanism on tacit knowledge transfer behavior, broadens the application space of symbiosis theory in the field of knowledge management, enriches the relevant research on the causes of knowledge subject behavior, and provides a theoretical reference for guiding the symbiotic relationship of members to develop healthily and stably in organizational collaborative innovation activities.
