Study On Farmers’ Willingness To Plant Facility Flowers And Its Influencing Factors In Xingqing District Of Yinchuan City

The biggest driving force for the sustained growth of China’s flower consumption market comes from the arrival of the era of home gardening,and the flower industry has quietly become one of the characteristic industries of rural revitalization.The year of 2016 is the first year of yinchuan Xingqing District’s "13th Five-year Flower Industry Development Plan".Taking advantage of the opportunity of hosting the 9th China Flower Expo in 2017,it promotes the transformation and upgrading of the flower industry and steps toward the development goal of leisure and sightseeing urban agriculture with the industry as the construction content.At the same time,Xingqing district successfully held five western China Flower Industry Development Conference,"Saishang Flowers","Xingqing flowers" brand awareness is increasing day by day.In order to integrate into the national "One Belt and One Road"construction,Ningxia advocates vigorously developing local advantages and characteristic industries.The Rural Revitalization Plan of Yinchuan Municipal District(2018-2035)also specifically points out that flower and horticulture and other characteristic industries should be supported to promote the prosperity of rural industries.The flower industry has been listed as one of the six characteristic industries in Xingqing District.The general idea of "excellent vegetables,refined grains and flowers"has been implemented to fully exploit the natural resources and expand the multiple functions of the flower industry,such as increasing income and efficiency,leisure and tourism,and absorbing employment,to drive the optimization and upgrading of the industry.Up to now,Xingqing District in Daxin Town,Zhangzheng town,Yueya lake township three township(town)of new canal village,Zhenhe village,Wailu village,Binhe new village and other 9 administrative villages to establish flower industry demonstration base 10,the total area of flower planting about 7,500 mu,the total output value of flowers nearly 200 million yuan.Based on the background,the question "Will it work for farmers to grow flowers instead of vegetables?To solve this problem,this paper explores the willingness of farmers to plant facility flowers in Xingqing District of Yinchuan city and its influencing factors.Select 364 farmers of 9 representative flower demonstration villages in this area as the research object,through the review of relevant domestic and foreign literature,based on the theory of farmer behavior,price theory,scale economy theory,planned behavior theory,combined with the actual situation and survey data,construct a binary logistics regression model.Qualitative and quantitative methods were used to conduct empirical research,and the significant factors affecting farmers’ willingness to plant facility flowers were summarized.The results showed that farmers’ planting intention was significantly affected by 14 factors,including their education level,whether they joined the professional farmer cooperatives,planting varieties,planting area,planting years,sales income,sales channels,cognition of facility flowers,and the annual number of technical training.According to the significant influencing factors,the following countermeasures and suggestions were put forward for farmers’ willingness to plant facility flowers in xingqing district of yinchuan city:(1)pay attention to the introduction of professional talents and seek scientific and technological assistance;(2)Guide farmers to join cooperatives and actively avoid multiple risks;(3)Introduce suitable flower varieties and improve planting hardware facilities;(4)Expand flower sales channels and build local well-known brands;(5)Strengthen policy publicity and enhance farmers’ willingness to participate;(6)The implementation of farmer skills training,dynamic response to technical needs.It is expected to provide reference for the government’s relevant decisions,drive farmers to continue to increase income and get rich,promote the deep integration of the first,second and third industries,promote the high-quality development of the flower industry,and provide local experience for the overall revitalization of rural areas.Finally,the research results are summarized and the prospects of facility flower planting in Yinchuan Xingqing District are prospected.
