Chinese herbal medicine industry is an important part of China’s pillar industry, trump card industry and strategic emerging industry. It is an emerging characteristic industry for the adjustment of agricultural structure and the increase of farmers’ income.Heilongjiang Province,as one of the major provinces in the production of traditional Chinese medicine, has unique natural resource advantages, which provides preconditions for the development of traditional Chinese medicine.Jixi City vigorously develops the traditional Chinese medicine industry, drives farmers to increase their income through the planting of traditional Chinese medicine, and creates a brand of traditional Chinese medicine in the northern cold area, which has a good development prospect. However,at the same time, there are also problems of farmers’ low planting willingness and weak planting awareness, resulting in the relative lag of the planting scale and level of traditional Chinese medicine. This paper aims to explore the main influencing factors of farmers’ willingness to plant traditional Chinese medicine in Jixi City, and put forward countermeasures and suggestions to promote farmers’ willingness to plant traditional Chinese medicine,in order to provide reference for relevant departments to formulate policies.Taking the farmers’ behavior theory as the main theoretical basis, this paper combs the influencing factors of farmers’ planting of traditional Chinese medicine from three parts: the basic situation of farmers’ individuals and families, farmers’ planting characteristics and external environmental characteristics.Design a questionnaire and make descriptive statistical analysis of the survey data.On the basis of theoretical analysis and field investigation,16 factors that may affect farmers’ planting intention are established as independent variables, and the binary logistic regression model is used for empirical analysis. The results showed that: education level, risk preference, whether the amount of land investment is sufficient, whether they are willing to land transfer or forest land auction, the growth years of Chinese herbal medicine varieties, whether the planting of Chinese herbal medicine by people around them affects the planting intention, whether they are willing to loan to plant Chinese herbal medicine, and the judgment of the prospect of Chinese herbal medicine have a significant impact on the dependent variables.Based on the above research conclusions, some suggestions are put forward, such as strengthening the policy guidance of rural culture and education, reducing the risk of farmers planting traditional Chinese medicine through government subsidies and the introduction of agricultural insurance, and using the advantages of land resources to encourage farmers’ land transfer,so as to form large-scale management.
