| On November 15,2020,15 countries including ten ASEAN countries and China,Japan,South Korea,Australia and New Zealand officially signed the regional comprehensive economic partnership agreement(RCEP),marking the formal conclusion of the world’s largest free trade agreement(Wang Yong,2021).In the context of the impact of the current epidemic on the global supply chain, actively promoting the implementation of RCEP and improving trade facilitation is of great significance to ensure the stability of the global supply chain and realize Asian economic integration.Based on the data of China and 11 RCEP member states from 2010 to 2019,this paper studies and discusses the relationship between trade facilitation and China’s manufacturing product import,in order to provide reference for improving the level of trade facilitation and adjusting the product structure of China’s manufacturing industry.Firstly, this paper analyzes China’s import scale and import structure of manufacturing products from RCEP member countries, focusing on four kinds of manufactured products:resource-based,low-tech,medium-tech and high-tech,deeply analyzes the current import situation, and reveals the imbalance of China’s import and export development of manufacturing products from RCEP member countries.Secondly, this paper constructs a trade facilitation evaluation system with 4 primary indicators and 20 secondary indicators, calculates and compares the trade facilitation level between China and 11 RCEP member countries by using the principal component analysis method.Thirdly, based on the analysis of the current situation of trade facilitation of RCEP member countries and the import of China’s manufacturing products, this paper constructs a gravity expansion model, and makes a regression analysis of trade facilitation of RCEP member countries on the total import of China’s manufacturing products, four different technological forms of manufacturing products, and distinguishing different trade facilitation indicators on the total import and the import of resource-based and high-tech manufacturing products.Based on the above analysis, the following conclusions are drawn:first, the long-term imbalance of import and export trade structure.Second, there is a large gap in the level of trade facilitation.Third, trade facilitation plays a significant role in the import of China’s manufacturing products.Fourth, the level of trade facilitation in different aspects has different effects on China’s manufacturing import structure.Fifth, the impact of economic scale, total population, distance and other factors on imports can not be ignored. Finally, this paper puts forward policy suggestions from three aspects:first, speed up the construction of infrastructure interconnection and consolidate the "hard foundation" of trade facilitation.Second, accelerate the deepening of the implementation of RCEP agreement and enhance the "soft power" of trade facilitation.Third, unswervingly implement the opening-up strategy at a higher level and fight the "escalation war" of import structure adjustment. |
