Research On Mobile Internet Use Of The Edlderly Population From The Perspective Of Digital Divide

Simultaneous demographic changes and scientific and technological changes pose challenges to our social development and governance.The collision between the growing elderly population and the ever-changing new technologies has attracted widespread attention from all walks of life.The convenience of smartphones has not been widely used among the elderly,but to a certain extent,it has added some difficulties to their lives.The problem of how the elderly can enjoy the digital dividend and how to better integrate into the digital life needs to be solved urgently.Therefore,based on the digital perspective,this paper takes the elderly in the X community of Hohhot as the research object,uses the literature research method and the semi-structured interview method to obtain relevant research materials,pays attention to the personal feelings of the elderly group,and at the same time combines the aging services and supporting facilities construction of the society and the community,and deeply explores the use of smartphones and subjective feelings and cognition of the elderly living in the city.The study and analysis found that the young elderly group is the main force using smartphones.The use of smart phones by the elderly shows the characteristics of shorter use time,age gap in the ownership and use of smart phones,"disconnection" from home,single use but good results and few learning paths to use methods;the elderly agree with the development of the Internet and the convenience of smartphones,but the initiative and enthusiasm for learning to use smart phones are not high.The objective environment of social intelligence,support from the family,hobbies and entertainment social circles are all factors that promote the use of smart phones by the elderly;but the physiological and psychological adaptation of the elderly group,the complex design of smart phones and third-party software,and the low degree of compatibility of the social environment are all factors that hinder the use of smart phones by the elderly.The emergence and use of smart phones has increased and changed the way the elderly socially entertain,enriching the lives of the elderly to a certain extent,but there are still many problems that need to be solved by our whole society.The underlying reason is that the elderly group has a gap in receiving and using social information and resources compared with other age groups,which reflects the inequitable distribution of digital resources in the information and digital era.
