The upsurge of globalization is increasing day by day. With the rapid development of economy,a major problem is energy shortage and environmental pollution. Therefore,it is imperative to develop new energy.Subsequently, the related new energy industry has sprung up all over the world. In China, the new energy industry is also a hot spot of industrial development. At present,as an emerging representative of the development of China’s new energy industry, the photovoltaic industry not only injects strong vitality into China’s industrial development and brings significant economic benefits, but also provides a strong driving force for China’s in-depth poverty alleviation and building a well-off society in an all-round way through the preferential policies of distributed photovoltaic promotion subsidies and photovoltaic poverty alleviation.Since the photovoltaic industry belongs to an emerging high-tech industry, the traditional development model cannot be used to meet its needs. In contrast, the agglomeration effect of industrial agglomeration itself makes the industry more conducive to the formation of scale effects, promotes coordinated development, further enhances regional competitiveness, and generates regional external economies of scale. The agglomeration development of photovoltaic industry has relatively weak links in practice and theory. Therefore,it is of great significance to study the agglomeration development of photovoltaic industry.Firstly, this thesis combs the research results of domestic and foreign scholars in relevant aspects in recent years, and defines the theoretical concepts of new energy industry, industrial agglomeration and photovoltaic industry development,as well as the theoretical support such as the calculation of agglomeration degree and the mechanism of influencing factors;Secondly, select the effective data and measurement methods suitable for the measurement of photovoltaic industry agglomeration degree, take 30 provinces(cities and autonomous regions)(excluding Tibet, the same below)as the observation object, select the photovoltaic data of each province from 2012 to2019,and calculate the photovoltaic industry agglomeration degree by using two measurement methods of location entropy and spatial Gini coefficient,The spatial pattern of China’s solar photovoltaic industry agglomeration level is analyzed by using Moran index and Arc GIS analysis tools;According to the quantitative analysis of the external driving force of PV industry agglomeration in China, the external driving force and the internal driving force of PV industry agglomeration are selected as the driving force of PV industry agglomeration in China, and then the external driving force and the internal driving force of PV industry agglomeration are tested respectively. Finally, the empirical results are analyzed and summarized, and then the corresponding suggestions are put forward. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The development of China’s photovoltaic industry since 2012 can be briefly divided into three stages: the initial stage(2012-2014),the outbreak(2015-2017),and the stable(2018-2019).;In the mid-term of photovoltaic installations, the installed photovoltaic capacity of most provinces has increased significantly, exceeding 8 million kilowatts and 10 million kilowatts year by year, and the photovoltaic industry in most provinces has ushered in rapid development. In the later period, under the government’s orderly management and policy inclination,China’s photovoltaic industry continued to develop upstream of the industrial chain with high added value, the industrial structure was rationally optimized, the phenomenon of "light abandonment" was improved, and the growth rate in most provinces decreased.(2)From 2012 to 2019,the agglomeration level of the photovoltaic industry has generally increased: areas with LQ greater than 1 increased from 6 provinces to 15 and16 provinces year by year;and as the government strengthens support for distributed photovoltaic power generation year by year, the photovoltaic industry The agglomeration provinces gradually get rid of the single development model that relies on the natural endowment of the region, and develop from areas with extremely rich solar energy to areas with "rich" and "more abundant" solar energy.(3)China’s photovoltaic industry agglomeration is mainly in northwest provinces such as Qinghai,Ningxia,Gansu and Xinjiang, and the degree of agglomeration in the Yangtze River Delta and East China is at the second high level, and shows a gradual downward trend in the south across the country. The change of agglomeration trend in the eastern region is always not obvious.(4)The agglomeration development level of the photovoltaic industry in various provinces in China’s has a spatial effect.Natural resources(Sun)have a significant impact on the agglomeration and development of the photovoltaic industry in this province or economic zone, but the natural resources of adjacent provinces have no significant impact on the agglomeration and development of the photovoltaic industry in this province. The economic base(Rgdp)is negatively correlated with the agglomeration level of the photovoltaic industry in the province, and the improvement of the economic level of the neighboring provinces will positively affect the agglomeration development of the photovoltaic industry in the province. The increase in science and technology expenditure(St)promotes the agglomeration and shaping of the photovoltaic industry in this province, and at the same time has a negative impact on neighboring provinces. Both energy demand(Ele)and investment level(Rgd)have a positive effect on the agglomeration of the photovoltaic industry, but have no significant impact on neighboring provinces.(5)The influencing factors of China’s photovoltaic industry agglomeration have regional heterogeneity.Government fiscal expenditure(Gov)has played a significant role in promoting the agglomeration of the photovoltaic industry in the central and northeastern regions. However, the industrial structure(Is)and the development of photovoltaic industry agglomeration in the central region have changed in the opposite direction, and natural resources(Sun)have a significant positive impact on the photovoltaic industry agglomeration in the western region. This paper has 19 figures,18 tables and 141 references.
