Research On The Impact Of Productive Service Imports On The Technological Complexity Of Manufacturing Export

Nowadays,with the continuous extension of the international trade networks,the types and forms of production factors are gradually showing a trend of diversification.All participants in the global market are constantly strengthening exchanges,deepening trade interdependence and striving to maximize the benefits of resource allocation.However,on the one hand,this form promoted the coordinated development of global trade,on the other hand,it also brought new trade risks and challenges.In the process of economic development,as the representative of advanced productive forces,the manufacturing industry has always been the focus of improving the competitiveness of countries.In the 14th Five-Year plan of China,it is also proposed to continuously improve the competitive advantage of the manufacturing industry,promote the highquality development of the manufacturing industry and transform from a large manufacturing country to a powerful one.Therefore,how to seize the opportunities of the manufacturing industry has become the focus of increasing attention of all countries.Based on the above situation,this paper explores the impact of producer services imports on manufacturing industry.This paper analyzes the influence mechanism of producer service import on manufacturing export technology complexity through technology spillover effect,cost reduction effect and import competition effect.Based on the import and export data of manufacturing and producer service from 2008 to 2019,the cross-border panel data of the technological complexity of manufacturing export in 42 countries are calculated.Then,this paper makes an empirical study on the related influencing factors that affect the complexity of manufacturing export technology by using the fixed effect model,and makes regression analysis according to different groups of manufacturing factor intensity and national economic development level.The results show that a country’s import of productive services can significantly promote the technological complexity of its manufacturing export.Among them,the promotion of capital-intensive and technology-intensive manufacturing industries is more significant than that of labour-intensive manufacturing industries,and the influence on developed countries is more remarkable.In addition,other factors such as research and development investment,human capital level,infrastructure level,and economic development level also have positive impact,but trade openness has negative impact on manufacturing export technology complexity.Finally,combined with the research conclusions,the paper puts forward some policy suggestions: the government should encourage the import of producer services,and pay attention to the import quality while expanding the scale of import;increase investment in education and optimize the structure of domestic human capital;reduce service trade barriers reasonably and promote service trade facilitation;improve the level of scientific and technological innovation and increase investment in scientific research;accelerate the construction of infrastructure.
