With the country’s strong support for the development of the “Digital Economy”and the emergence of Covid-19,it has become a general trend for traditional manufacturing enterprises to implement digital transformation and upgrading with the help of emerging digital technologies.In order to explore whether “Internet Plus Manufacturing” can empower the high-quality development of manufacturing enterprises,the performance of enterprises before and after digital transformation,and the differences in financial performance between digitally transformed enterprises and non-digital transformed enterprises.This thesis takes the manufacturing enterprises in the Shanghai and Shenzhen A-share main board markets from 2012 to 2020 as the research object,and uses the web crawler and text mining technology of Python to conduct word frequency statistics on key words related to digital transformation from enterprises’ annual reports,and finally get the frequency of words,which is used to describe the degree of digital transformation of manufacturing enterprises.In addition,this thesis uses principal component analysis to repeatedly screen the primary indicators in the financial performance evaluation index system of manufacturing enterprises,and finally conducts a financial performance evaluation index system suitable for analyzing digital transformation enterprises.Based on the principal thought from the whole to the part,from the static to the dynamic,descriptive statistics,factor analysis,entropy weight method and other methods are introduced to analyze the difference of financial performance between pre transformation and post transformation of digital transformation enterprises in manufacturing enterprises and use SPSS 26.0 software to comprehensively evaluate and compare the financial performance of digital transformation companies and non-digital transformation companies.The study found that in the early stage of digital transformation from 2012 to2016,enterprises carrying out digital transformation have undergone certain profit growth through the use of digital technology.From 2016 to 2018 when integration stage of digital and traditional advantages of enterprises,digital transformation enterprises have got rid of the development dilemma of traditional manufacturing enterprises and improved the core competitiveness of enterprises by innovating the business operation mode of enterprises.During 2018-2020,after experiencing the rapid growth of performance in the early stage of digital transformation,the growth rate of digital transformation enterprises slowed down,but compared with non-digital transformation enterprises,they still showed the advantages and toughness of digital operation.Compared with non-digital transformation enterprises,the total net asset profit margin and cost profit margin of digital transformation enterprises have increased by about 37% and 22% respectively,and the growth rate of operating revenue has increased by about 13%,indicating that digital transformation enterprises have improved their financial performance greatly compared with non-digital transformation enterprises.In the performance evaluation and comprehensive ranking of 902 manufacturing enterprises,two weighting methods are used respectively,but the results show that among the top 50 enterprises,nearly 80% of them are digital transformation enterprises.The higher the frequency of digital transformation related target keywords in the annual report,the more enterprises enter the list of top 50 enterprises with comprehensive scores.In order to realize the digital transformation and enable the high-quality development of manufacturing industry,China’s manufacturing enterprises should continue to promote and further implement the strategic goals of digital transformation.
