| China has always been a big trading country in agricultural products, but with the progress of society, people’s living standards and consumption patterns have changed a lot and the traditional agricultural products trade has been unable to meet the needs of the current society. As a new trade model,cross-border e-commerce relies on new technologies and has the advantages of big data and Internet plus.It is in line with the trend of social development and welcomed by consumers, and has gradually become a new driving force for the growth of foreign trade. At present,a wave of digital agriculture is set off around the world, and in this situation, the Chinese government actively promotes the integrated development between cross-border e-commerce and agriculture. Many favorable policies have been introduced for cross-border e-commerce of agricultural products. They hope to fully release the promotion effect of cross-border e-commerce on agricultural trade through policy support and encouragement. Therefore,it will be of great significance for the development of China’s international trade to explore issues such as "what impact cross-border e-commerce has on China’s agricultural export trade, how to make good use of the new opportunity of cross-border e-commerce,and how to make the development of cross-border e-commerce to a new level".In view of the above analysis, this thesis adopts the method of combining qualitative and quantitative analysis to study the impact of the development level of cross-border e-commerce on China’s agricultural export.Firstly, the relevant literature is sorted out from three aspects.Secondly, transaction cost theory and trade intermediary theory are chosen as the theoretical basis of this thesis, and supported by these two theories, the influence mechanism is analyzed from two aspects of reducing transaction cost and promoting trade transformation and upgrading.Thirdly,by referring to existing studies,an indicator system is constructed to measure the development level of cross-border e-commerce in China from 2012 to 2019,which is taken as the core explanatory variable of the empirical part. Finally, the conditional mean and marginal effects of cross-border e-commerce development level on China’s agricultural export are studied by using bidirectional fixed effect and quantile regression model.Due to the unbalanced economic development in China,31 provinces were divided into three parts, east, middle and west, during the quantile regression, for heterogeneity analysis,so as to further discover the different impacts of cross-border e-commerce development level on agricultural products’ export in the east, middle and west areas.Through empirical research, this thesis mainly draws the following conclusions :(1)The development of cross-border e-commerce between east, middle and west is unbalanced.(2)Cross-border e-commerce plays a significant role in promoting China’s export of agricultural products.(3)There are differences in the impact of cross-border e-commerce on the export of agricultural products in the east, middle and west areas.According to the empirical results of this thesis,cross-border e-commerce has the greatest impact on the export of agricultural products in the east, followed by the middle and the west.(4)Cross-border e-commerce promotes China’s export of agricultural products by reducing transaction costs.Based on the above research and China’s national conditions, the following suggestions are put forward :(1)Improve the overall development level of cross-border e-commerce in China.(2)Focus on the development of specialty agricultural products of cross-border e-commerce.(3)Improve the logistics system of cross-border e-commerce agricultural products.(4)Focus on cultivating cross-border e-commerce of agricultural products.(5)Strengthen risk prevention measures for cross-border e-commerce of agricultural products. |
