Influence Of Collaboration Network On Central Knowledge-intensive Enterprise’s Dual Innovation From The Perspective Of Structural Embeddedness

Promoting coordinated regional development is an important measure for my country to achieve high-quality development at present.The central provinces are actively integrating into the national strategy,making efforts to promote supply-side reform,and focusing on cultivating a new generation of information technology industries.Even so,there is still a significant gap in technological innovation between the central enterprises and the eastern coastal areas’,the economic development of the society is showing a slow growth trend,and even the phenomenon of "central collapse" occurs.Therefore,the state proposed the "Central China’s Rising Strategy" and promulgated the "Guiding Opinions on Promoting High-quality Development of the Central Region in the New Era",aiming at emphasizing the strategic significance of promoting the transformation and upgrading of the central region.However,since regional transformation and upgrading requires a solid micro-foundation,and enterprises are the market entities for the implementation of economic activities,stimulating their innovation potential is an important way for innovation-driven development.At the same time,with the intensifying technological competition and increasing innovation complexity,enterprises need to maintain their competitive advantage by taking into account both exploratory innovations that enhance their competitiveness and exploitative innovations that keep them running smoothly.Under the background of knowledge economy and digital economy,on the one hand,various enterprises tend to use external cooperation network platforms to search and absorb core technical knowledge resources;on the other hand,enterprises rely on their own knowledge reserves to build internal knowledge network,and achieving effective integration and utilization of internal resources.Therefore,how to use the dual role of internal and external innovation networks to accelerate the development of their dual innovation has attracted extensive attention of scholars.On this basis,this paper takes the knowledge-intensive enterprises in central China as the research object,incorporates variables such as cooperation network structure embedding,knowledge network relationship embedding,knowledge base,and dual innovation into the research framework to construct a theoretical model,and attempts to further study the internal mechanism of the impact of cooperation network structure embedding on the dual innovation of enterprises.First of all,the article summarizes the relevant viewpoints of social network theory,dual innovation theory,resource-based theory and knowledge-based theory,sorts out relevant domestic and foreign literatures on cooperation network,knowledge network,knowledge-based and dual innovation.The paper also determines the research contents based on the shortcomings of existing research,and defines the related concepts in the impact mechanism.The paper selects the centrality and structural hole to measure the structural embedding of the cooperation network,uses the relationship’s breadth and strength of the knowledge network to measure the knowledge network relationship embedding,and measures the knowledge base of the enterprise by the breadth of knowledge,further article builds a theoretical model to reveal the direct impact of the structural embedding of cooperative networks on dual innovation in the central regional knowledge-intensive firms,as well as explores the mediating effect of the knowledge base in its influence path and the moderating mechanism of the embeddedness of the knowledge network relationship.Thirdly,the article uses the patent data from 2006 to 2019 applied for authorization by the State Intellectual Property Office and the Wisdom Tooth Database as the data source,uses Ucinet 6.0 to construct the knowledge-intensive enterprises’ cooperation network and knowledge network in the central region,calculates the relevant network embedding indicators based on the social network analysis method,and uses STATA16.0 to quantitatively analyze the research samples and test the research hypotheses.Finally,the paper draws research conclusions based on the regression results,puts forward relevant policy suggestions,and points out the research flaws and the future research direction.According to the above logical analysis,the main conclusions include the following: first,the centrality of external cooperation network plays a positive role in promoting both exploratory innovation and exploitation innovation,but the promotion effect on exploitation innovation is stronger than exploratory innovation;Second,the structure hole of the cooperation network positively affects dual innovation,but it is more conducive to the development of exploratory innovation than exploitation innovation;third,the internal knowledge base of the enterprise plays a mediating role in the influence path of the structural hole of the cooperation network on the dual innovation;fourth,internal knowledge network relationship embedding can strengthen the positive impact of external cooperation network’s centrality on dual innovation;fifth,internal knowledge network relationship embedding will inhibit the positive impact of external cooperation network’s structure hole on dual innovation.This paper innovatively explores the mediating effect of knowledge base between the structural embedding of cooperation network and dual innovation,deepens the related researches on the correlation between innovation networks and knowledge bases,and enriches the theoretical achievements of dual innovation with central characteristics,having certain practical significance for improving the innovation ability of enterprises in the central region.In addition,based on the perspective of internal knowledge network,the paper explores the moderating role of knowledge network relationship embedding between cooperation network structure embedding and dual innovation,expanding the research perspective of dual network embedding and dual innovation relationship.The conclusions are helpful to provide theoretical and useful reference for the central enterprises to optimize the internal and external network embedding characteristics and further improve the dual innovation ability.
