Today,China is facing a complex and severe international situation, with regional hotspot issues emerging one after another, globalization trend reversing, world economic growth sluggish, countries reducing exports one after another, the drawbacks of export-oriented strategies have become increasingly prominent, and the international cycle is facing a crisis.my country’s economic growth mode and social contradictions have changed, the contribution of exports to the domestic economy has gradually decreased, and domestic consumption has become the main driving force for economic growth.Based on this international and domestic situation, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China proposed to accelerate the construction of a new development pattern with the domestic cycle as the main body and the domestic and international dual cycles mutually reinforcing.Nanchong City is located in Northeast Sichuan. As the central city of Northeast Sichuan,it plays a "leader" role in Northeast Sichuan.Nanchong City has a good location advantage and industrial basic conditions, but its economy has long relied on government-led investment. However, the proportion of consumer demand that plays a decisive role in economic growth is too small, the consumer market is sluggish, and the domestic demand structure is unbalanced. The top-level design of the new development pattern will guide the actual problems of Nanchong, properly handle the relationship between investment and consumption, take the expansion of domestic demand as the starting point and end point, enhance the vitality and creativity of the market economy through reform, and fully tap the potential of domestic demand in Nanchong City.Enhance development vitality and momentum, and build a unified and efficient domestic demand system. The thesis consists of four chapters including the introduction. The research is carried out along the logic of "existing achievements-development status-practical problems-cause analysis-realization path".Firstly,it explains the research background, purpose and significance of Nanchong City’s expansion of domestic demand under the new development pattern, sorts out and reviews the relevant research status, and explains the key points, difficulties, innovation points, research ideas and methods of this topic.Secondly, the core concepts of demand and domestic demand are defined, and the profound meaning and internal logic of the new development pattern are explained in detail. The theory serves as the theoretical basis for Nanchong City to expand domestic demand. Then, the current situation of expanding domestic demand in Nanchong City is analyzed, mainly from the achievements of gradual stabilization of industrial production, stable growth of private investment, and rapid growth of residents’ income. However,Nanchong City still has weak industrial foundation, mismatch between supply and demand, consumption The rate is low,and the business environment needs to be improved. Finally, according to the existing problems and the reasons for the problems, specific countermeasures for Nanchong City to expand domestic demand under the new development pattern are put forward.Nanchong City needs to follow the principles of effectiveness, balance, people’s livelihood and adhere to the principles of development speed and quality. On the specific path,we will coordinately implement policies from the four aspects of production, circulation, distribution and consumption to increase effective supply, reduce circulation costs, improve income distribution, and increase willingness to consume. The opening mechanism and the improvement of the benign interaction mechanism between investment and consumption provide institutional support and the effectiveness of Nanchong City in expanding domestic demand.
