Entering a new stage of development,China’s poverty reduction has shifted from hard-core governance to conventional governance, and from absolute poverty to relative poverty.China’s vast territory, regional differences in resource endowment and economic development level make the distribution of relative poverty in China show regional characteristics. With the elimination of absolute poverty, people feel more and more strongly about regional relative deprivation. Therefore,it is important to investigate regional differences in relative poverty and its influencing factors, and to make overall plans for regional coordinated development.Based on the Chinese family tracking survey database(CFPS)from 2014 to 2018,this paper analyzes regional differences in relative poverty in China and its influencing factors. The main research contents include :(1)theoretical analysis.Based on the analysis of relative poverty’s connotation, characteristics and factors leading to poverty, this paper constructs a general theoretical analysis of the influencing factors and mechanism of regional differences in relative poverty.(2)Empirical analysis. The measurement index system of relative poverty in China is constructed based on CFPS database, the relative poverty index of each region is calculated by a-F method, the regional differences of relative poverty in China are calculated and decomposed by Theil index, and the external factors affecting regional differences of relative poverty in China are analyzed by grey correlation method.(3)Policy suggestions. On the basis of theoretical analysis and empirical analysis, the paper puts forward targeted governance measures to alleviate relative poverty in various regions. The main research conclusions of this paper are as follows :(1)at the spatial level, the incidence of multidimensional relative poverty and multidimensional relative poverty composite index in eastern China are lower than those in other regions. When the multidimensional poverty critical value k is less than 0.6,there is a significant gap between eastern and western China. At the time level, both the incidence of multidimensional relative poverty and the composite index of multidimensional relative poverty showed a decreasing trend.(2)With regard to regional differences, the regional differences in relative poverty in China are mainly reflected in the regional differences.Narrowing the regional differences is a long-term and arduous task.Further regional differences between the eastern and western regions of the performance is particularly prominent, and this difference is increasing year by year, therefore,we must take corresponding countermeasures to narrow the difference.(3)the regional difference of relative poverty factors affecting the grey correlation analysis results show that the influence of the central region of relative poverty is the main social security level and the foreign direct investment, and influence in the western region of relative poverty is mainly physical capital endowment, medical and health level, foreign direct investment, regional conditions and tax and transfer payment,The relative poverty in northeast China is mainly affected by taxation and transfer payment, social security level, human capital level and foreign direct investment. Therefore, this paper puts forward countermeasures and suggestions to alleviate regional differences in relative poverty and promote regional coordinated development from the above aspects.
