Research Of Korea’s Trade And Investment In Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture Of China

China’s Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture is geographically close to Korea,and a lot of trade and investment have been made with Korea due to similarities in language and culture.In this thesis,in the 30 th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Korea,Korea studies trade and investment in the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture of China,and Korea collects,organizes,and analyzes the latest data on trade and investment in the Yanbian region.In the future,I would like to study so that Korea can contribute to promoting economic cooperation with China’s Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture.First,a general analysis was conducted on trade and investment between Korea and China in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture,and the related theoretical basis was summarized.Based on the analysis,the necessity and feasibility of trade and investment between Korea and China in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture were analyzed.Next,the expression characteristics of trade and investment between Korea and China in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture were studied.Looking at the trade between Korea and the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture of China,the food and processed foods such as frozen fish,processed fish products,and bottled water account for a large proportion of the varieties exported to Korea by the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in China.In addition,industrial raw materials such as cables,plastic raw materials,and internal combustion engines occupy a certain proportion.Services trade in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture between Korea and China is mostly tourism.In 2018,before the outbreak of the coronavirus,more than 600,000 Korean tourists traveled to Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in China.The tourism industry is an area with high growth potential in the future as its share in the total output of the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in China is rapidly expanding.Korea’s investment in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in China includes transportation and warehousing,services,manufacturing,and information and communication industries.Before the THAAD issue,Korean companies’ investment in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in China exploded from 2013 to 2016.As a result of the outbreak,Korea’s investment in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in China shrank.Looking at the investment industry,it is mainly concentrated in the manufacturing industry,followed by the lodging industry,food service industry,social service industry,software,information service industry,wholesale and retail industry,etc.Looking at the characteristics of investment,Korea’s investment in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in China was mostly consumer goods until2017,but it was changed to intermediate goods from 2018 to 2021.Or,the role of trade and investment in the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture between Korea and China and the problems facing it was investigated.The main problem of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in China is that the development rate is slow and the development continuity is low.In addition,Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in China has a small economy and poor infrastructure.In addition,although the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in China borders North Korea geographically,economic travel with North Korea is currently limited.These problems have made it difficult for Korea and China to advance economic cooperation in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture.Finally,the prospects for trade and investment were analyzed,and countermeasures and recommendations were presented.For now,China’s Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture should seize the historical opportunity and actively expand the depth and breadth of opening.It is necessary to actively expand the export scale,optimize the export structure,and continuously strengthen international competitiveness.Through resource development,brand construction,service support,and industrial convergence,the food industry and tourism industry of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in China will be developed as main industries,contributing to the economic and social development of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture.A comprehensive platform such as resources,regions,culture,and policies must be created.In addition,since economic exchanges at the private level can deepen economic cooperation between Korea and China’s Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture,it is necessary to conduct exchanges and cooperation in a broader range.
