Study On The Influence Of Development Strategy Of Changjiang River Economic Belt On Green Total Factor Productivity

Since the 1980s,the Party Central Committee has one after another promulgated a battery of documents to probe the development of the Changjiang River Economic Belt,aiming to promote the sustainable development through the joint role of the government and the provinces and cities(provinces,autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government)along the line.This thesis regards the Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Development of the Changjiang River Economic Belt by Relying on the Golden Waterway promulgated by the State Council in 2014 as a quasi-natural experiment,integrating the panel data of 30 provinces and cities in Chinese Mainland from 2004 to 2019,according to the analysis of the current situation of gtfp in China’s provinces,this thesis studies the impact of the strategy on gtfp,and invokes corresponding suggestions.The primary study contents and verdicts of this thesis are as as below:First,MaxDEA7.0 software was used to calculate the gtfp of China’s provinces according to the SBM-GML index model,which demonstrated that the gtfp of China’s provinces had an overall upward movement.The second is to explore the impact of the strategy on the gtfp of riverside cities based on the double difference model.The outcomes demonstrate that the strategy has enormously enhanced the gtfp of the riverside cities.In addition,increasing population scale and superior financial development level can also enormously enhance gtfp,but short-term educational expenditure is hard to positively affect on gtfp,and the influence of the rise in the ratio of secondary industry on gtfp is not clear.Thirdly,the conclusions of heterogeneity analysis demonstrate that the strategy has an increasing effect on the improvement of gtfp in the upstream,midstream and downstream reaches of the river.Fourth,the mesomeric effect outcomes demonstrate that technological innovation and pollution reduction have an energetic intermediary influence in the impact of the strategy.As mentioned above,this thesis proposes those suggestions:First,we are supposed to further promote the strategy and emphasize regional harmonious development;Second,we ought to lead the industrial transformation and upgrading of the Changjiang River Economic Belt with technological innovation;Third,we ought to strengthen the control of industrial pollutant emissions and think highly of green development;Fourth,implement the strategy according to the practical circumstance of the upstream,midstream and downstream reaches of the basin;Fifth,improve gtfp of the riverside cities through multiple channels.
