The report of the 20 th Party Congress in 2022 clearly pointed out that "high-quality development" is the primary task for China to build a strong socialist modern state. In May 2016,the State Council announced the "Made in China 2025" initiative, which means that China has started the full implementation of the manufacturing power strategy. In recent years,China has adhered to the concept of "quality-based" and has emphasised the importance of quality management in a number of important meetings.Product quality is the final result of quality management in enterprises. In a socialist market economy, products are used to meet the material and cultural needs of consumers and other producers, but our products will never be able to meet the growing needs of our people.A company wants both good products and sufficient profitability. It is therefore important to strike a balance between high quality and low cost, and this is why companies need quality cost management. After a long period of popularity, manufacturing companies in China have come to realise the importance of quality cost management to their development. However,as the market becomes increasingly competitive, traditional quality cost management gradually reveals its limitations,so it is urgent to adopt management methods that keep up with the times to strengthen quality and control costs.Lean production, the advanced production method of the Japanese company Toyota, has been proven to be an excellent contributor to cost reduction and waste elimination on both theoretical and practical grounds. In this thesis Siemens X is used as a case study to investigate and discuss.A questionnaire survey and data analysis were used to analyse the quality cost data of Company X.The current situation of quality cost management in Company X was investigated in conjunction with the departmental management process of Company X.Firstly,a questionnaire survey was used to obtain quality cost information from within Company X.Secondly, the quality cost composition of Company X was analysed from a value chain perspective, and quality costs were divided into internal value chain quality costs, supplier value chain quality costs and customer value chain quality costs, and the quality cost management of each value activity of Company X was precisely analysed.A horizontal and vertical comparison was carried out to quantitatively describe the current status of quality cost management in Company X and provide a data base for subsequent analysis. This is followed by a search for deficiencies in quality cost management in the R&D,purchasing, production and after-sales processes of Company X based on Lean production theory. Finally,Lean thinking is applied to the optimisation of quality cost management in Company X.Specific countermeasures are proposed from the perspective of value chain cost management, and Lean thinking is implemented in every place before, during and after production, helping Company X to refine Lean cost management and providing updated ideas for Lean quality cost management in the same industry.
