General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out in the party’s 20th annual report that"we should advocate green consumption and promote the formation of green and low-carbon modes of production and life".In the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics,to promote high-quality development,we need to expand domestic demand,promote consumption in all respects,enhance the fundamental role of consumption in economic development,and especially stimulate the potential of green consumption to achieve high-quality economic development.Economic base determines the superstructure.In order to promote high-quality economic and social development and implement carbon peak and carbon neutrality,it is imperative to promote the green consumption;therefore,the corresponding superstructure is required,but the superstructure as a social ideology is relatively independent,and does not follow the economic base.Therefore,at present,China has not yet formed a corresponding and strong value and culture leading system.In addition,the impact and influence of external environmental factors will inevitably bring some challenges and cause some negative effects to the healthy development of our society.Especially with the rapid development of productivity and technology,consumer goods will not only improve the quality of people’s consumption,but also derived from extravagance,excessive consumption,show off consumption and other alienated-consumption phenomenon.Behind the alienation of consumption is the unreasonable production,lifestyle and consumption mode,which will bury the hidden dangers of ecological and environmental problems.Therefore,according to the reality of building a new development pattern,promoting high-quality economic development and solving ecological environment problems,it is necessary to construct a matching and scientific consumption culture to provide the correct value guidance for production and life practice;this is not only an important topic in the new era,but also the key problem in this paper.For this problem,this paper mainly from four aspects:first,from the economic development,ecological environment protection,the needs of people and the needs of cultural development dimension,analyze the necessity of the construction of green consumption culture,at the same time,the green consumption,green consumption culture and the core concept,combing predecessors related thought resources.next,Based on the actual situation of our social development,To summarize the challenges faced by the current construction of green consumption culture:the phenomenon of insufficient consumption does not match the demand of expanding domestic demand,the phenomenon of excessive consumption does not adapt to the demand for pollution and carbon reduction,the strength of frugal consumption culture is not sufficient,and the standardized development of the media needs to be further improved;To conclude on the causes of these problems,It mainly includes the imbalance of economic and cultural development,the lack of role of Chinese excellent traditional consumption culture,and the subtle influence of media landscape;The resulting anomie of market economy,waste of resources,destruction of the environment,the alienation of people and forcing the marginalization of Chinese excellent traditional virtues and other adverse consequences.Finally,the basic measures for the construction of green consumption culture from three aspects:consolidating the economic foundation,providing the right direction and enriching the nourishment of excellent traditional consumption culture;meanwhile,the construction of green consumption culture from creating the environment of green consumption,playing the demonstration role of key groups and fields,and constructing daily life,to ensure the construction of green consumption culture and provide a strong value leading force for the economic and social development.
