The main contradiction in China’s society in the new era has been transformed into a contradiction between the people’s growing need for a better life and unbalanced and inadequate development.At this stage,the perspective of the development of various industries has shifted from the "quantitative" aspect to the "qualitative" aspect.The starting point and foothold of improving "quality" lie in people.The hotel industry is a labor intensive industry,and the quality of its service largely depends on the engagement of hotel employees.Therefore,employee engagement has become the focus of hotel human resource management issues.As the first five-star hotel in H City,H Hotel has been a leader in the hotel industry in H City for more than 30 years.In recent years,affected by the objective environment such as intensified industry competition and the COVID-19,as well as employee salaries and personal development prospects,H Hotel’s employees’ enthusiasm for work is declining,and the frequency of employee turnover is also accelerating.With the advent of the "retaliatory tourism climate" in the post epidemic era,understanding the current situation of employee engagement,identifying factors that affect employee engagement in H Hotel,and proposing solutions to improve employee engagement have become an urgent issue for H Hotel to address.The connotation of employee engagement emphasizes the degree to which employees are engaged in cognitive,emotional,and physical aspects,and are very willing to work inwardly.This study is mainly based on the 3S model and designed a corresponding questionnaire.Using questionnaire tools and interview methods,it conducted a survey on three aspects of H Hotel employees’ basic information,engagement status,and factors affecting engagement,as well as collected research data.In addition,relevant data were processed through SPSS26.0 software,and statistical analysis methods were used to process and analyze the data.The research results show that the current level of employee engagement in H Hotel is low,and there are four main factors affecting employee engagement in H Hotel: first,the main problem with employee career planning is that the development prospects of the hotel and employees are unclear;The second problem reflected in the salary and welfare system is that the employee salary and welfare system is unreasonable;The main problem of interpersonal relationships in enterprises is disharmony in interpersonal relationships;The main problem with skills training is that enterprises do not provide adequate skills training for employees.In response to these issues,this study proposes corresponding measures from four aspects: helping employees formulate scientific career planning,establishing a fair and reasonable salary management system,optimizing the work environment,and establishing a scientific and standardized training system.
