Research On The Influence Of Digital Economy On The Coordinated Development Of Regional Economy In China

The digital economy has become an important engine leading technological revolution,industrial transformation,and driving regional economic growth.Coordinated development of regional economy is a major strategy to achieve common prosperity and promote the construction of a modernized economic system.The digital economy is changing the way of resource allocation,promoting technological innovation,advancing the upgrading of industrial structure,and integrating new energy into the coordinated development of regional economy.In order to explore how the development of the digital economy can influence the coordinated development of regional economy,this paper uses panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2013 to 2021,based on the measurement the digital economy and coordinated development of regional economy,uses the two-way fixed effect model,intermediary effect model and geographic detector to explore the influence effect of the digital economy on the coordinated development of regional economy from multiple angles.The findings are as follows:Firstly,during the sample period,the development level of digital economy in each province showed an overall upward trend,and there is still a certain "digital divide" phenomenon between the eastern,central and western regions.The level of coordinated development of provincial economy development has significantly increased,and the average economic development gap between the western provinces and other provinces has narrowed significantly.Secondly,the digital economy can both narrow the economic development gap and promote economic connectivity between regions,driving the coordinated development of regional economy.Thirdly,the impact of digital economy on the coordinated development of regional economy has regional heterogeneity.From the perspective of differences between the eastern,central,and western regions,the impact on the central and western is more significant,and from the perspective of the differences between the north and south,the impact on the southern region is significant.Fourthly,the digital economy can significantly promote the coordinated development of regional economies through technological innovation.Fifthly,the interactive effects of digital economy development with industrial structure upgrading,urbanization level and other factors have stronger explanatory power to the spatial differentiation of regional economic coordinated development compared with single factor.Finally,based on theoretical analysis and empirical research,this paper sorts out the influence path of digital economy on the coordinated development of regional economy,and puts forward suggestions such as establishing cross-regional economic cooperation,developing regional characteristics by digital economy,and enhancing the development of technological innovation.
