| Business model is on trend now in China,the word comes into widespread use by various people,from star-up investors to business analysts till a commercial commentator.However,the reality is that,Business model is one of those things many people feel they can recognize when they see it but can’t quite define.That’s less surprising than it seems because only a few people have ever investigated the true meaning of business model seriously,and fewer asked what is a business model,how to analyse a business,how to design a winning business model.Nowadays,companies are still rushing headlong to become more digital.With the help of information technology,internet pioneers are reorganizing company hierarchy,reshaping their business structure,and finally regaining momentum in creating value at the new frontiers of the business world.Now,another approach of digital commerce has emerged,which is called community group buying,one more focused on fresh food,including fruits and vegetables.This community-based approach has gained increasing popularity among China’s internet population.J-Company,as the main subject of this research,is the leading brand in the west part of Heilongjiang province.Thought J-Company has built an outstanding platform selling fresh food,the company still faces the challenge of internet giants,which is the the sword of Damocles of J-Company.So,J-company needs to reflect more on designing a winning business model.This research use the protocol of Alex Osterwalder’s Business Model Canvas,after careful examination of the nine elements,such as Value Propositions,Customer Segments,Channels,Customer Relationships,Revenue stream,Key Resources,Key Activities,Key Partnerships and Cost Structure,and describe the business model canvas of J-Company.And the research also found the disadvantages and conflicts contained in J-Company’s business canvas of community group buying activities,such as lack of specialization and lean management,implicit conflict of interest between business lines.This research makes recommendations on improving the business model of J-Company. |
