The increasing frequency and rapid spread of black swan events such as the novel coronavirus outbreak make enterprises in southwest China face a highly dynamic and uncertain environment.More and more enterprises take the initiative or are forced to make strategic changes to adapt to environmental changes. How enterprises effectively implement strategic changes to achieve sustainable development has become an important issue that needs to be paid attention to at present. At the same time, the development of digital economy has become an irreversible wave, facing the uncertainty of the environment and digital change, accelerating the digital transformation has become an inevitable move for the realistic survival and sustainable development of enterprises. Therefore, under the background of the new development pattern of digital economy,it is of great practical significance to strengthen the research on the digital transformation and enterprise strategic change in southwest China, and empower enterprises’ development and strategic change through digital technology to enhance the willingness of enterprises’ digital transformation and strategic change in Southwest China, promote the balanced development of regional economy and improve the overall quality and efficiency. In addition, both digital transformation and strategic change are carried out in an uncertain environment, which requires enterprises to have the corresponding resource base and the ability to flexibly acquire, integrate and allocate resources to support enterprise transformation and change. As the development and supplement of resource-based theory, dynamic capability theory provides theoretical basis for enterprises to effectively integrate resources and reconstruct resource allocation mode.It can make a reasonable explanation for the enterprise transformation and strategic change under the ultra-competitive environment. Therefore, based on resource-based theory and dynamic capability theory, this study constructs a research framework of "digital transformation-dynamic capability-strategic change" to reveal the "black box" of the impact of digital transformation on strategic change,in order to provide an effective path for the implementation of enterprises’ digital transformation and strategic change in Southwest China. This paper selects the data of Shanghai and Shenzhen A-share listed companies in Southwest China from 2010 to 2021 as research samples, and uses STATA statistical analysis software to explore the impact path and mechanism of digital transformation of enterprises in Southwest China on strategic change. The results show that:(1)Digital transformation has a positive impact on enterprise strategic change;Compared with state-owned enterprises,non-state-owned enterprises play a more obvious role in realizing strategic change through digital transformation.Compared with high-tech enterprises,non-high-tech enterprises play a more obvious role in realizing strategic change through digital transformation.Compared with non-southwest regions, listed enterprises in southwest China have more obvious role in realizing strategic change through digital transformation.(2)Digital transformation has a positive impact on Innovation capability.(3)Innovation capability plays an intermediary role in the relationship between digital transformation and enterprise strategic change.(4)Digital transformation positively influences absorptive capacity.(5)Absorptive capacity plays an intermediary role in the relationship between digital transformation and enterprise strategic change. The research results show that the government should strengthen the policy support for non-state-owned enterprises and non-high-tech enterprises, learn from the experience of digital transformation in other regions,in order to stimulate the willingness of enterprises in southwest China to carry out digital transformation, and promote the implementation of strategic change by building dynamic capabilities to better adapt to the dynamic external environment. |
