For a long time, common prosperity is an issue that the Party and the country attach great importance to.As China enters a new stage of development, achieving common prosperity for all people is placed in a more important position. At present, digital economy is developing rapidly in China. It is of great theoretical and practical significance to study how to promote common prosperity in the context of digital economy.Although the academia has done a lot of relevant research, there are still some insufficiently demonstrated areas. For example, does the digital economy have different impacts on wealth and commonality? Is the impact of digital economy on common prosperity different in different regions? Does the digital economy affect common prosperity through other intermediaries? Therefore, measuring the level of digital economy and common prosperity and studying the impact mechanism of digital economy on common prosperity can,on the one hand, make up for the shortcomings of existing research and enrich the relevant theoretical knowledge of common prosperity; On the other hand,it is of great practical significance for the government to better provide public services according to the characteristics of neighboring regions and its own,how to improve people’s income level, narrow the regional development gap,and build an industrial structure suitable for local characteristics,so as to give full play to the dividend of the digital economy and further stimulate the potential of the digital economy to promote common prosperity.Based on the city statistical yearbook data from 2011 to 2019,this paper makes a study on the impact of digital economy on common prosperity in 110 cities of the Yangtze River Economic Belt from the perspective of spatial correlation and spatial heterogeneity.First of all, based on the systematic review of existing research, the paper deeply analyzes the relationship between digital economy and common prosperity and puts forward four hypotheses:(1)Digital economy has a significant positive impact on common prosperity;(2)The impact of digital economy on common prosperity has spatial heterogeneity;(3)Digital economy affects common prosperity by promoting industrial structure upgrading;(4)Digital economy affects common prosperity by improving the activity of innovation and entrepreneurship.Secondly, based on the existing concept connotation and measurement indicators of digital economy and common prosperity,an indicator system for evaluating digital economy and common prosperity is constructed.Digital economy and common prosperity are measured, and the temporal change trend and spatial distribution pattern of digital economy and common prosperity are analyzed using the method of spatial statistics; Then, fixed effects model and intermediary effect model are constructed.Regional sample regression is used to preliminarily analyze the spatial characteristics of the impact of digital economy on common prosperity, and the method of stepwise regression is used to verify that digital economy affects common prosperity by promoting industrial upgrading and enhancing innovation and entrepreneurship activity. Then, conducting global OLS regression on the data of2011,2015 and 2019 to test whether there is multiple collinearity between variables.Using geographic weighted regression to analyze the space-time characteristics of digital economy’s impact on common prosperity, and making spatial analysis on digital economy coefficient. Finally, through the existing empirical results, drawing the corresponding conclusions and recommendations. The main research conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)From the perspective of time, rich degree is increasing year by year, the digital economy and common degree are rising as a whole, but in some years there is a downward trend; From the perspective of space, the development level of digital economy from high to low is the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, the upper reaches of the Yangtze River and the middle reaches of the Yangtze River.Rich degree and common degree from high to low are the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and the upper reaches of the Yangtze River.(2)The results show that the digital economy not only has a significant role in promoting wealth, but also has a significant positive role in promoting commonality, but its role in promoting regional heterogeneity is obvious.Digital economy can not only directly affect common prosperity, but also indirectly affect common prosperity by promoting industrial upgrading and enhancing innovation and entrepreneurship activity.(3)Digital economy coefficient is the largest in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, indicating that digital economy affects the lower reaches of the Yangtze River the most, while digital economy coefficient is smaller in the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River; At first, the regression coefficient affecting common degree was the largest in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, then the high value area of the coefficient appeared in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, and finally returned to the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. The regression coefficient of the digital economy’s influence on rich degree becomes larger, indicating that the effect on the rich degree increases with time; The regression coefficient that affects common degree decreases, and the effect on common degree is weakened.Based on the above analysis, this paper gives the following suggestions:(1)Develop industrial digitalization and digital industrialization, and promote industrial upgrading.(2)Narrow the "digital gap".(3)Put the innovation driven development strategy into effect and improve the environment of innovation and entrepreneurship.(4)Formulate digital economy development policies adapted to local conditions.
