Optimization Study On Normal Temperature Standard Commodities Inventory Management In Shennan T Supermarket

With the growth of China’s economy and the improvement of consumers’ purchasing power in recent years,offline supermarkets still play an important role in our lives because of their core advantages of more variety of commodities and better quality after-sales service.Shennan T Supermarket is the first store of T Supermarket.The normal temperature standard commodities sold in the supermarket play an indispensable role in people’s daily life.However,due to many unreasonable situations in the inventory management of normal temperature standard commodities in Shennan T Supermarket,the store has gradually emerged the inventory management problems of low inventory turnover rate,high overall stock-out rate and high inventory cost which directly affects store`s economic benefits and service quality.This thesis takes the optimization of the inventory management of the normal temperature standard commodities in Shennan T Supermarket as the research objective.It combines the supply chain management theory,inventory management theory,and inventory control methods such as commodity classification,demand forecasting,ordering strategy.First of all,it sorts out the past demand and inventory of the normal temperature standard commodities in the store and then combines the ABC classification method and XYZ classification method to carry out a reasonable commodity classification.Secondly,on the basis of classification,it compares the appropriate mathematical model,such as moving average method,to determine the method of commodities` demand forecasting,and then designs the ordering strategy for different categories of commodities.Finally,it formulates the corresponding implementation plan and safeguard measures,in order to provide a more scientific and reasonable management method for the inventory management of the normal temperature standard commodities in Shennan T Supermarket.This thesis analyzes the past demand and fluctuations of commodities and uses the ABC-XYZ classification method to divide the normal temperature standard commodities in supermarkets into five different types.Then this thesis has conducted targeted optimization design for each type of demand prediction method and ordering strategy,and finally determined the most suitable demand prediction method and ordering strategy for each type.The research conclusion of this thesis can provide theoretical and practical guidance for the inventory management of normal temperature standard commodities in Shennan T Supermarket,which is helpful for the supermarket to solve existing inventory management problems,save costs,improve service level,and improve the use of funds.At the same time,it can also provide some reference for other enterprises in the same industry to manage the inventory of their normal temperature standard commodities.
