Research On The Impact Of Digital Economy On Regional Economic Disparities

In today’s world,with the rapid development of science and technology,industrial transformation is changing with each passing day,the digital economy has emerged as the times require,and has developed into the main economic form after the agricultural economy and industrial economy.Vigorously developing the digital economy in the new era is the only way to promote the high-quality growth of China’s economy.With the continuous expansion and deepening of the scope and degree of the digital economy,the role of promoting the regional economy is gradually emerging.At the same time,however,it should be noted that there is still a significant gap in the level of digital economy between regions in China,which will have a certain impact on economic coordination between regions.The existence of regional economic gap is an unavoidable practical problem,and studying the relationship between the digital economy and the regional economic gap and deepening the understanding of the impact of the digital economy on the regional economy is conducive to economic and social stability.This paper first sorts out the theoretical concepts and research results of digital economy and regional economic gap.Secondly,the factors and path mechanisms of digital economy affecting the effect of regional economic disparities are analyzed.Then,the progress of the digital economy and regional economic gap is analyzed,and the panel data and fixed-effect model from 2015 to 2020 are used to empirically analyze the actual effect of the digital economy on the regional economic gap at this stage.The results show that the digital economy narrows the regional economic gap,but the effect on different regions is different,whether from the perspective of the whole country or from the perspective of east,central and western regions,the development of digital economy can narrow the economic gap within and between regions,but the effect on narrowing the economic gap within the region is more obvious.At the same time,there are certain regional differences in the impact of the development level of digital economy on regional economic gaps.In addition,the level of education has a significant effect on narrowing the economic gap between regions in China.The level of opening up to the outside world is slightly better in narrowing the economic gap between regions,while government fiscal expenditure and industrial institutions are better at narrowing the economic gap within the region.Finally,based on the above research,the following countermeasures and suggestions are proposed:(1)Formulate differentiated and dynamic digital economy support policies according to local conditions,and promote the rational layout of the digital economy industry.(2)Actively play the role of radiation in economically developed regions and promote cross-regional cooperation and gradient transfer of digital industries.(3)Strive to form a coordinated and cooperative digital economy development pattern between enterprises,governments and users.(4)Accelerate the improvement of the basic elements of the digital economy and the ability of independent innovation,and promote the transformation of its innovation model from comprehensive innovation to original innovation and systematic revolution.(5)Improve the supporting mechanism of digital technology to promote development.It provides reference for various regions to promote the development of the digital economy and formulate relevant regional economic policies.
