An Empirical Study On The Impact Of Digital Economy On Rural Revitalization

The emergence of the digital economy has received widespread attention from many countries around the world,greatly changing the economic and social life.The report of the 20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly proposed the requirement to accelerate the development of the digital economy and promote the deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy.The establishment of the National Data Bureau proposed by the State Council in March 2023 directly marked the formal entry of China’s digital economy into a specialized and concrete stage of advancement,with data as the core of future economic and social development at the national level.As a new economic form,the digital economy uses information and communication technology as the carrier,and is driven by technological innovation and industrial integration to improve production efficiency,shorten spatial and temporal distance,enhance communication and exchange between regions,and promote economic development.This article first elaborates on the research background and significance,discussing the research related to the digital economy in China and the impact of the digital economy on rural revitalization.It sorts out domestic and foreign literature,introduces the relevant concepts of the digital economy and rural revitalization,and summarizes the relevant theoretical basis.Secondly,based on the reference of existing literature indicators,relevant data from 2013 to 2020 were collected.A comprehensive evaluation system was constructed from four aspects: digital economy development carrier,digital industrialization level,digital economy development environment,and industrial digitization level using the comprehensive evaluation method.The weight was determined using the entropy weight method to calculate the level of digital economy development.Based on the calculation results,Describe and analyze from aspects such as gradients and ranking changes.The developed areas of digital economy are mainly concentrated in the eastern coastal areas,and there has been no significant change in the level of digital economy development in each province during this period.Afterwards,this article uses the spatial Durbin model and panel threshold model to empirically study the impact of digital economy development level on rural revitalization development level.Combined with NCA necessary condition analysis,the necessary conditions for rural revitalization are obtained to supplement the empirical results.The results indicate that(1)there is a significant spatial autocorrelation between the development level of the digital economy and the level of rural revitalization,with the characteristics of "high clustering" and "low clustering".The development level of the digital economy in this province not only promotes the level of rural revitalization in this province,but also significantly promotes the level of rural revitalization in other provinces due to its spatial spillover.(2)On the basis of promoting the level of rural revitalization and development,the development level of the digital economy also has a threshold effect with the level of fiscal expenditure as the threshold variable.When the level of fiscal expenditure is below the threshold value of 0.29,the promotion effect is weak,and when the level of fiscal expenditure is above the threshold value,the promotion effect is enhanced.(3)According to the analysis of the necessary conditions for the development level of rural revitalization,the level of fiscal expenditure is not a necessary condition for improving the level of rural revitalization.Therefore,in rural revitalization,excessive reliance on fiscal expenditure is not allowed.Factors such as the level of digital economy development are necessary conditions for rural revitalization,among which the level of digital economy development is an important factor for achieving high-level development of rural revitalization.
