| In the era of economic globalization, the development of Chinese cities is marked. The rise of urban agglomerations is an important symbol of regional economic development to a certain stage, and the only way to drive the development of cities. The establishment of state-level city clusters is a national policy.By 2020,The State Council had officially approved 11 state-level city clusters. It is an urban community with compact spatial organization, close economic connection and a high degree of homogeneity and integration, which is formed by the developed transportation and communication infrastructure network. This paper mainly explores the specific relationship between urban agglomeration and regional economic development. From the perspective of producer services agglomeration and talent agglomeration, this paper explores the influence of agglomeration on regional economic development. The panel data of 174 prefecture-level cities in China from 2011 to 2019 were selected to construct a model containing the interaction terms of multi-time point DID,multi-time point DID and agglomeration degree to test the influence of agglomeration on regional economic level. The reliability of the results was verified by dynamic effect analysis, counterfact test and tail-reduction processing, and the heterogeneity was analyzed by regional and city size differences. The results show that:(1)National urban agglomeration policy can significantly improve the regional economic level;(2)The urban agglomeration effect in urban agglomerations can effectively drive the regional economic development. The agglomeration effect of producer services and talent agglomeration and their synergies have improved the regional economic level to varying degrees, and the synergies between producer services and talent agglomeration are the most significant.(3)The influence of urban agglomeration on regional economic development is obviously different among regions. The influence of urban agglomeration on the economic development of eastern cities is significant, but it is not significant enough for the central and western cities.(4)The influence of urban agglomeration on regional economic development is different in terms of city size.In terms of promoting effect on urban economy, industrial agglomeration is more obvious in cities with large urban population, and talent agglomeration is more obvious in cities with small population density. The synergistic effect of talent agglomeration and industrial agglomeration can play the largest role in cities with large population but small density. The research in this paper is helpful to objectively understand the benefits and risks that producer services agglomeration and talent agglomeration may bring to regional economy, understand the constraints on economic growth promoted by agglomeration of urban agglomerations, actively eliminate constraints, guide the planned flow of talents, and provide reference for the formulation of effective talent attraction policies. Moreover,it can help urban agglomerations play the positive role of agglomeration effect in improving urban service function and releasing the driving force of economic development. It expands the research ideas on the effects of producer service agglomeration and talent agglomeration on regional economic development, enriches the research results on the impact of agglomeration on regional economic development, and provides a new perspective for further exploring the economic effects of talent agglomeration and industry agglomeration. |
