In today’s global economic deteriorating and more fierce market competition,only by complying with the national innovation development strategy and improving the R&D and innovation capabilities can enterprises maintain their core competitiveness,especially for science and technology enterprises.The competition of innovation is the competition of talents.Excellent talents are the main body of innovation activities of science and technology enterprises.The number of employees and their work efficiency directly affect the innovation ability of science and technology enterprises.Improving the innovation initiative and work enthusiasm of employees is the key to improve the innovation ability of science and technology enterprises.The equity incentive policy can retain and attract talents to a certain extent,mobilize the enthusiasm of employees,stimulate their innovation motivation,improve their R&D innovation ability,and create more value for enterprises.With the continuous development and improvement of the equity incentive system in China,the scope of equity incentive has also expanded from the management to the employees of enterprises.Whether and how the employee equity incentive has affected the innovation performance of science and technology enterprises is worth studying.On the basis of sorting out the existing research results of domestic and foreign scholars,taking the principal-agent theory and human capital theory as the theoretical guidance,this paper selects Sangfor Company as the case company,collects and collates the relevant data from the company’s annual report and CSMAR database,and makes a comparative analysis of the three employee equity incentive plans of Sangfor Company,In addition,we conducted in-depth research on the impact of the employee equity incentive plan on innovation performance,and found that after the implementation of the employee equity incentive plan,we are convinced that the indicators of innovation input,innovation output and innovation transformation of Sangfor Company have been improved.Through research,it can be concluded that employee equity incentives at the level of innovation investment can have a positive impact on innovation performance from two aspects: investment in R&D funds and investment in R&D personnel;Providing equity incentives to employees at the innovation output level can help core technical personnel of enterprises stimulate innovation initiative,develop more new products and patented technologies,and thereby improve the innovation output of enterprises;At the level of innovation transformation,it can promote the transformation of enterprise innovation achievements into enterprise profits,and have a positive impact on the innovation performance of technology enterprises.Finally,this article proposes relevant countermeasures to address relevant issues,including extending the validity period of equity incentives,improving the performance evaluation system,and improving the equity incentive system.It is hoped that this can be a reference for technology enterprises that want to implement employee equity incentives.
