In the context of the slowdown in economic growth in China, the number of fresh graduates reaching a record high year by year, and the changing workplace in recent years, entrepreneurship,as an important way to drive employment, has received greater attention.Entrepreneurship pursues success, entrepreneurial success is measured by entrepreneurial performance, and entrepreneurial assistance policies around entrepreneurial performance are mainly to provide government subsidies, tax incentives, etc.,and have not yet mentioned the inherent psychology of entrepreneurs. However,in real life, there is a general loneliness in the entrepreneur group, according to the self-determination theory, the loneliness of the entrepreneur may have a negative impact on entrepreneurial performance, and according to the relevant research of emotional trust and social exchange theory,it is speculated that the loneliness of entrepreneurs has a negative impact on entrepreneurial performance through the emotional trust of entrepreneurs, but there are corresponding gaps in existing studies. At the same time,in the organizational context of our country, there are some unique cultural factors, such as the culture of collectivism.According to previous research,it is speculated that in the organizational context of China’s collectivist culture, entrepreneurs with high collectivist tendencies may weaken the negative impact of entrepreneurs’loneliness on entrepreneurs’ emotional trust in others due to mutual assistance and cooperation with others in the collective, which also has research gaps. Therefore,in order to verify that entrepreneurs’ loneliness has a negative impact on entrepreneurial performance, and entrepreneurs’ loneliness has a negative impact on entrepreneurial performance through entrepreneurs’ emotional trust, and entrepreneurs’ collectivist tendency plays a regulating role in the negative impact of entrepreneurs’ loneliness on entrepreneurs’ emotional trust,a questionnaire survey was adopted.Specifically, with the help of a third-party data platform,a sample of 154 entrepreneurs in various cities across the country was analyzed using SPSS and AMOS software, and the final data analysis results were used to verify the research hypothesis. The research conclusions of this paper mainly include the loneliness of entrepreneurs has a significant negative impact on entrepreneurial performance, the loneliness of entrepreneurs has a significant negative impact on entrepreneurial performance through the emotional trust of entrepreneurs, and under the condition of entrepreneurs with high collectivist tendencies, the negative impact of the loneliness of entrepreneurs on the emotional trust of entrepreneurs will be weakened. The theoretical contributions of this study mainly include 1)expanding the scope of the research group of loneliness, bringing loneliness from the organizational situation to the entrepreneurial situation, starting to pay attention to and study the loneliness of entrepreneurs who are bosses, improving loneliness research, and providing a basis and foundation for future exploratory research on entrepreneurs’ loneliness;2)It fills the research gap of the influence of internal psychological and emotional factors on entrepreneurial performance of entrepreneurs, and explores the impact of the loneliness of entrepreneurs and the emotional trust of entrepreneurs on entrepreneurial performance;3)On the basis of the research keywords such as entrepreneurs’ anxiety, entrepreneurs’ passion, and entrepreneurs’ emotion, the specific negative emotion of entrepreneurs’ loneliness is added, and the content of this international frontier topic of entrepreneur sentiment is expanded;4)It deepens the understanding of emotional trust in the field of entrepreneurship, which is conducive to future research taking emotional trust as the starting point and deeply exploring the impact of emotional trust between entrepreneurs and others in entrepreneurial situations on all aspects;5)The moderating role of cultural factors related to this study in the context of organizational culture in China is considered, which provides a reference for subsequent research to continue to explore the influence of other unique factors in the context of organizational culture in China in entrepreneurial activities. The practical contributions of this study include 1)inspiring the government to comprehensively consider the internal and external factors that promote entrepreneurial performance, and improve entrepreneurial support measures;2)Making entrepreneurs and their stakeholders more aware that cultivating emotional trust ultimately benefits themselves and their entrepreneurial performance.
