| With the rapid economic development,China’s agriculture is facing the problems of global climate change, environmental pollution and lack of agricultural resources, etc.Implementing a sustainable agricultural development model with low consumption, low pollution and high output is an inevitable choice to ensure China’s food security and agricultural stability.Countries along the "Belt and Road",as the key agricultural cooperation regions in China, are the best targets for China to implement sustainable agricultural development. The level of sustainable agricultural development not only reflects the development trend of agriculture in each country, but also reflects the stability and sustainability of agricultural development in each country. It is conducive to exploring the key areas and directions of cooperation in agriculture with countries along the route, and further deepening sustainable cooperation in agriculture. Therefore,it is important to study the level of sustainable agricultural development of the countries along the route for China to develop sustainable agricultural cooperation with them. This paper firstly compares domestic and foreign studies on sustainable agricultural development and its influencing factors, and elaborates on theories of sustainable development and coupling coordination based on the definition of relevant concepts.Secondly,77 countries along the "Belt and Road" are taken as the research objects,to get an overview of the current status of agricultural development in those countries, both in terms of agro-ecological environment and economic resources.Thirdly, analyze the level of sustainable agricultural development and its system coupling coordination in each country along the route.Construct a comprehensive evaluation index system from four dimensions: economic opportunities, social well-being,ecological environment and climate action, and measure the level of sustainable agricultural development and its inter-system coupling coordination from 2008 to2020 through a comprehensive evaluation method. On this basis, analyze its time-series evolution and spatial differentiation characteristics. Finally, analyze the level of sustainable agricultural development and its inter-system coupling coordination from the perspectives of technology and economy, openness, government intervention, infrastructure and industrial development.Further explore the heterogeneity of effects in different income countries. The research results show that: Firstly, the current status of agricultural development differs among countries, most of which are rich in ecological and environmental resources, but the status of agricultural economic resources is average and still under continuous development and improvement.Secondly, the level of sustainable agricultural development and the degree of system coupling coordination in each country show fluctuating trends. In general,Uruguay,Latvia and other European and American regions have the highest level of sustainable agricultural development, mainly related to the importance of environmental protection, energy conservation and emission reduction;Bahrain,Kuwait and other Asian regions have poorer development levels, mainly related to agricultural production and unstable social development. In terms of spatial distribution, the level of sustainable agricultural development and coupling coordination among countries basically show a trend of high in the west and low in the east, high in the north and south and low in the center, and there are strong spatial correlation and spillover effects.Thirdly,in terms of influencing factors, commodity trade, foreign direct investment, road traffic mortality, and industrial value added have a negative influence on the sustainable development level of agriculture, and agricultural mechanization has a positive influence. The factors of medium and high technology and government fiscal expenditure do not have significant effects on the overall countries along the route, but they have significant negative effects on middle and high income countries and low income countries, respectively. There are differences in the degree and direction of influencing factors.Based on the conclusions,t this paper puts forward relevant policy recommendations in terms of agricultural trade, infrastructure construction, and spatial layout of sustainable cooperation in agriculture. |
